One of the biggest draws to the Algarve (apart from the gastronomy, weather, beaches… need I go on!) is of course the golf. In fact the Algarve is one of the most popular destinations in Europe for golfing breaks… and you only have to play on pretty much any course to understand why.<\/p>\n

Many of the courses have lush green grass, plenty of obstacles and are adorned with sunshine pretty much all year round. Most are geared up towards the golf tourist and offer club hire, lessons, flexible tee times and all the other trimmings you could wish for.<\/p>\n

Quinta do Lago Golf Course<\/a><\/h3>\n

Quinta do Lago Golf Course <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

There are in fact 2 x courses here (North & South), both very playable and are 18 holes. These are established courses (1974) that have the prestigious title as one of the top 25 rated golf courses in all of Europe. Prices are also fair from around \u20ac 180 for 2 x rounds.<\/p>\n

Gramacho Golf Course <\/a><\/h3>\n

This is an 18 hole, 72 Par course in Carvoeiro that has in fact hosted the Portuguese Ladies Open on a number of occasions. Another exciting course with 27 greens plus numerous different tee points, that enable you able to enjoy the same course time and time again but always with slightly different challenges. You\u2019ll love the scenery here, expect to see natural stone outcrops, historical dry stone\u00a0walling and existing ancient trees with some artfully sculpted lakes and bunkers. Fees sit at around \u20ac 60 for an 18 hole round.<\/p>\n

Gramacho Golf Course <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Boavista Golf Course<\/a><\/h3>\n

Established in 2002, this 71 Par course is recognised as one of the Western Algarve\u2019s premier courses. It\u2019s a championship course that was designed by Howard Swan, a well known UK architect. Boavista offers two distinct parts \u2013 the Resort Section (the 1st to the 3rd and the 13th to the 18th) and the Country Section (the 4th to the 12th) \u2013 which provide a variety of attractive and interesting holes. Expect breathtaking views of the crystal clear Atlantic Ocean (visible from most holes) and a cracking meal in the clubhouse when you\u2019re done! Fees are around \u20ac 82 per person.<\/p>\n
