The region is regarded by some as the breeding grounds for some of the finest horses in Spain thanks to its climate, rich vegetation and history of pedigree breeding programs. The area also has made a name for itself when it comes to Sherry too!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Therefore Jerez de la Frontera seems like an entirely suitable place for a Horse Fair.<\/p>\n<p>The fair itself takes place around May time attracts thousands of visitors who witness some rather impressive horsemanship along with the bullfights and exhibitions of Sevilliana dancing (flamenco.)<\/p>\n<p>The fair is split into three segments, a live stock and agricultural machinery exhibition, bullfighting and Sevilliana and finally the horse show itself. You\u2019ll see Spanish purebreds, the famous Andlusian thoroughbreds, purebred Arabs and Anglo-Arabs show jumping, vaulting and cowboy and classical dressage.<\/p>\n<p>However the highlight of the show is without a doubt the &#8220;Como Bailan los Caballos Andaluces&#8221; or the Dancing Andalusian Horses. This is absolutely amazing (and world famous) and performed by the world famous Real Escuela de Arte Ecuestre (Royal<br \/>\nSchool of Equestrian Art) which is based in Jerez itself.
