Family fun

Nearby Lake St Cassien makes for a lovely day out for all ages. Some may bask on a rock and dip their toes in the rippling water whilst others go off to explore tiny footpaths through the shrubs along the shore. All can enjoy the views from a lakeside restaurant, perhaps a reward after a strenuous morning in a canoe or pedalo.

Youngsters will love the adventure park near Montauroux which has a treetop obstacle course with safety harnesses, as well as an unusual netted area in the trees where they can run and jump about freely, 5m above ground! There is also laser-tag and mini-golf on the same site.

Wine and vineyards

You will see fields of vines everywhere in this area, and therefore also plenty of vineyards where you can taste the local wines. Rosé is the favoured tipple in this region, but reds and whites are also produced. There is a wine merchant in the village, and wineries in nearby Tourettes and Seillans which offer ‘dégustations’.

Swing, glide or spin

Keen golfers (with a handicap under 35) can try their hand at the ‘Terre Blanche’ 9-hole course just a few kilometres away.

For something a little different, you could consider a gliding lesson or a light aircraft experience at the Aerodrome just outside of Fayence!

If you have brought mountain bikes with you (or you can hire them at Montauroux) you could hone your skills at the BMX/mountain bike park next to the Aérodrome, which is free to use but parents must supervise their children.
