Take a boat trip from nearby Nydri and visit the famous beaches of Porto Katsiki or Egremini.
Why not discover the other charming islands of the Ionian Sea with a trip sailing around Meganisi, Madouri, Skorpios, Skorpidi, Sparti, Kefalonia and Ithaca.
If you want to cool off, visit the Dimosari Waterfalls, not far from Nydri. It is a short walk (20 minutes) from the entrance to the falls themselves. Water cascades over the cliff and rocks from a height of 15 metres, falling into the naturally formed pool at the bottom. Have a swim but be aware, the water is very cold!
Lefkada Town is a must for a day trip or evening out (around a 10 minutes’ drive). The capital of the island is a small town with great tavernas, seaside bars and a main square where you will find numerous cafes and bars. You will find a wide range of souvenir shops, clothing boutiques and a wide range of services including banks and hairdressers along the cobbled streets of Lefkada Town.
Why not visit the Frangoulis Distillery in Lefkada Town to sample the cognacs and traditional liquors on offer?
At Agios Nikitas beach, just under 30 minutes’ drive from Lygia, you can take to the air in a tandem paraglide and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the island. The beach here is small but family friendly with nearby tavernas and some shops.
