Client Reviews for Casa da Galé

We have just spent the most wonderful time here at Casa da Gale, the villa is perfect for a peaceful break from all of lifes stresses! The pool has been our main port of call, a gentle swim and then a laze by the pool. The gardens are beautiful, who knew you could get lemons that big? Moledo itself is a very quiet, rural village with a stunning beach, there are several small village type shops, however if you need a bigger shop there are two large supermarkets in Ancora and a small "express" type in Caminha....All in all a stunning holiday! Thank you.

Loved it all!.....Beach at Arda by far the best - great surf. Ponte de Lima, Braga and Valenca all we worth the visits. Pool and sun beds, both proved far too tempting every afternoon. Relaxing. Thanks, Simao.

What a beautiful and tranquil house. We loved the pool and the delightful garden - a real treat being able to pick lemons. The eating area was a pleasure for dinners al fresco. We had an authentic & delicious meal at Gaivota just a few minutes walk from the house and a most upmarket experience at the Design & Wine hotel in Caminha. A day spent in the fortified town at Valenca was interesting with a quiet visit to Vila Nova de Ceveira when the town had been "yarn bombed" - lamposts, trees & bollards all covered in woolly creations. Viana do Castelo is worth a visit, especially the ride up to the Basilica on the funicular. Foz do Minho beach is good for swimming (and slightly out of the wind). Hope to be back one day! Thanks for making us feel welcome, Simao.

The whole booking process was straightforward and efficient, as was the subsequent paperwork. My only comments are that the property was significantly better equipped than suggested by the website description. Which was a very pleasant surprise, but would have helped to know beforehand. Also, the garden at the property was absolutely beautiful and the photos on the website do not do it justice.

Many thanks - we have had a great time at this gorgeous property with an amazing pool. Nearby Ponte de Lima and Braga are both stunning and well worth visiting - especially for excellent pastries and plazas respectively!....I loved walking to the beach each morning for a chilled start to the day and lying on the lilo in the perfect pool. The weather has been glorious......Perfect property as a base in the Minho. Lucky enough to go to the Caminha Art/Beer festival today. Fab! As said before, many thanks to the small shop by the railway who supplied great toast bread and bbq lighters!

Our first trip to Portugal and we have had a fantastic time. The weather has been good, we have used the pool at least once a day and have visited the beach several times. We have really enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful gardens - the children have loved seeing lizards, beetles, butterflies and a snake! The villa itself has been very comfortable with everything you could need. We have enjoyed using the woggles in the pool and have played several games of table tennis. We have eaten every day on the terrace, it is such a lovely place to have a meal and relax. Thanks to Simao for the (much appreciated) welcome basket and information. Very happy with everything - we'll be back next year (or earlier if possible!)

A truly splendid holiday met by owner and given brief tour of the village. He also texted information to us during the week of local events we may wish to attend. The villa was in an ideal position and was fully equipped with all we needed. We decided not to hire a car but train and bus services were sufficient although we carried a timetable of both with us to help. Area is beautiful with walks to Cahmina and Ancora. The cobbles may make it difficult for those with walking difficulties and the villa is up a hill. The walk to the beach took about 15 minutes and we found about 4 grocery shops in the village. Various places to eat. We came back from our week away feeling relaxed, fitter and ready to return! Thank you!

Wow - what a relaxing week. Lucky with the weather so were able to make good use of the swimming pool. The walk through the woodland to Caminha was beautiful as was the walk along the cycle path to Ancora - so many lovely flowers. The view from the top of the cable car in Viana do Castelo was stunning. Our welcome basket was indeed most welcome, we loved the jam. Thank you to Simao for your warm welcome, showing us around Moledo. We loved the friendliness of the area and hope to return as soon as possible.

Had a fantastic week here. The villa is lovely - thank you Simao and family. we ere lucky to have some lovely weather so spent time in the garden, swimming, exploring the village and going down to the beach. Enjoyed the three local restaurants. It did rain a bit but we had a great time driving to Spain over the bridge at Nova Ceivera and then back by ferry. We visited A Guarda and had some fantastic seafood. We also did the drive up to Santiago de Compostela which took 2 hours and was really interesting and somewhere very different to see. The village and the villa are really lovely, thank you so much.

Very satisfied! Staff in the call centre were very friendly and helpful. The departure pack was very useful, particularly the brochure giving information on the region of our holiday. Thank you.
