Client Reviews for Casa da Galé

Excellent information provided and owner of the house was very helpful and welcoming.

What a lovely house in beautiful gardens and great location. No car and feeling lazy, we’ve kept to walking. Lovely walks to Caminha through the pine woods. Returned via the coast – totally deserted and beautiful. Enjoyed a beach walk in Vila Praia de Âncora and a nice walk through the hills. Hope to return again when all the fruit is ripe.

Thank you for our lovely stay at Casa da Galé. The villa has been a total haven on the super-hot days we’ve enjoyed. It has everything we’ve needed and the garden is spectacular! We got down to Porto on the train and enjoyed a fabulous lunch at one of the Port wine lodges, plus of course a late breakfast at the Majestic Café – well worth getting the earlier train for. The Thursday market at Barcelos was fascinating. Ponte de Lima was beautiful, as was the drive across country to get there. Of course, relaxing by the pool has been great and Moldeo and Caminha are idyllic little places to spend time in. Our week has gone too fast! Thanks again

This is a lovely house. The garden is beautiful with a large heated pool. We were encouraged to eat as much of the fruit from the trees as we liked. A day in the sun by the pool, followed by wine on the terrace in the late afternoon was very mellow. Even when it rained one evening, we were able to cook in the well equipped kitchen and relax in the lounge area. This area of Moledo is very quiet, but you are a 10 min stroll away from the local bars and restaurants. Simão, the owner was very helpful and friendly. We recommend it highly and would definitely consider going there again. We were also very impressed with the pre-holiday information and, although we know the area and didn't need the house info book, we're sure it would help new visitors to the area.

We have just spent the most wonderful time here at Casa da Gale, the villa is perfect for a peaceful break from all of lifes stresses! The pool has been our main port of call, a gentle swim and then a laze by the pool. The gardens are beautiful, who knew you could get lemons that big? Moledo itself is a very quiet, rural village with a stunning beach, there are several small village type shops, however if you need a bigger shop there are two large supermarkets in Ancora and a small "express" type in Caminha....All in all a stunning holiday! Thank you.

Loved it all!.....Beach at Arda by far the best - great surf. Ponte de Lima, Braga and Valenca all we worth the visits. Pool and sun beds, both proved far too tempting every afternoon. Relaxing. Thanks, Simao.

What a beautiful and tranquil house. We loved the pool and the delightful garden - a real treat being able to pick lemons. The eating area was a pleasure for dinners al fresco. We had an authentic & delicious meal at Gaivota just a few minutes walk from the house and a most upmarket experience at the Design & Wine hotel in Caminha. A day spent in the fortified town at Valenca was interesting with a quiet visit to Vila Nova de Ceveira when the town had been "yarn bombed" - lamposts, trees & bollards all covered in woolly creations. Viana do Castelo is worth a visit, especially the ride up to the Basilica on the funicular. Foz do Minho beach is good for swimming (and slightly out of the wind). Hope to be back one day! Thanks for making us feel welcome, Simao.

The whole booking process was straightforward and efficient, as was the subsequent paperwork. My only comments are that the property was significantly better equipped than suggested by the website description. Which was a very pleasant surprise, but would have helped to know beforehand. Also, the garden at the property was absolutely beautiful and the photos on the website do not do it justice.

Many thanks - we have had a great time at this gorgeous property with an amazing pool. Nearby Ponte de Lima and Braga are both stunning and well worth visiting - especially for excellent pastries and plazas respectively!....I loved walking to the beach each morning for a chilled start to the day and lying on the lilo in the perfect pool. The weather has been glorious......Perfect property as a base in the Minho. Lucky enough to go to the Caminha Art/Beer festival today. Fab! As said before, many thanks to the small shop by the railway who supplied great toast bread and bbq lighters!
