The villa has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. Rogelio and his family made us very welcome and the Paella at Hotel A Queimada (order 24 hours in advance) is excellent. A great atmosphere and tapas at Taperia O Monte and both in easy walking distance. Baiona is well worth visiting. Easy parking in the underground car park. Good walk and views around the Parador and a superb ice cream from the shop along the harbour front. Highly recommend Restaurante Fonte de Zeta for friendly service and excellent food. Places we particularly enjoyed visiting: Portugal – Vila Nova de Cerveira – a lovely square to sit and watch the world go by plus a very beautiful park alongside the River Minho and recommend the fortress walled old city of Valença. Castro de Santa Trega at A Guarda – drive to the very top, (1 euro per person), to enjoy stunning 360 degree views of the Minho River, Portugal and Spain plus the Iron Age Celtic Settlement. Thank you Rogelio for a lovely holiday.

Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa. Really love what we have seen of Galicia and will hopefully be back sometime. Exceptionally friendly people. Lovely food, visited the Cies Islands and Portugal then generally lazed by the pool or beach. Thank you for a lovely week Rogelio.

Had a very enjoyable week. Loved the pool and the outside kitchen. Had great tapas at Pazo de Mendoza in Baiona. Also enjoyed Taperia O Monte. Best meal was at A Guarda – fresh and delicious seafood and fish at Casa Chupa Ovos – need to book but it is well worth it and reasonably priced. A great week – thank you.

After a week in a chalet near Luarca, staying at Pazo de Mendez has been a real treat. Everybody the pool and the peace and quiet after busy mornings on one of the local beaches – Patos was a favourite for the body boarding. It has been a pleasure to stay here and we’re all sorry to be leaving.

Loved the privacy of Pazo de Mendez, spent most of the time by the pool, eating, reading and drinking. Local Taperia in walking distance – went twice – very good tortilla.

Lovely week here at Pazo de Mendez. The pool has been very welcome and enjoyed the use of the BBQ. Our favourite beach was Panxón – great relaxed feel and some great waves for bodyboarding which the children loved. They also enjoyed hiring go karts from ‘La Pedaleria’ in Baiona and using the great cycle path along the coast. Also loved Taperia O Monte too. Also discovered a great ice cream shop on the harbour front in Baiona that sells a fantastic selection of ice lollies as well as the usual ice creams. Thank you Rogelio!

What a fantastic week in such a lovely villa. We’ve enjoyed the pool so much and could easily spend another week here. Picking oranges and squeezing them for breakfast is a heavenly experience. We’ve done a lot of beach research during our stay: Praia América – very good but busy, especially at weekends. The waves are good if you have a surfboard or just fun to jump in. Praia Aguete – 45 min drive but beautiful and has shade too. Sea great for swimming. Praia de Rodas – boat trip to the Cies Islands takes you to the most beautiful beach ever. It gets pretty packed so better to go early or later. Beach at bottom of Parador in Baiona also looks great – will try that later! I agree with previous reviews of Taperia O Monte – it’s just fantastic. Chorizo San Juan is an experience not to be missed! Nearest and best supermarket is Mercadona and there’s also a good selection of shops locally in A Ramallosa, also a wonderful toy shop. All in all we’ve had the best time, I’m so impressed with Galicia and the local people and would love to come back. So glad we came here, we had such an excellent time on our holiday and once again we are so glad that we booked through you.

An amazing setting with fantastic views and so relaxing! (Ideal after spending 3 nights in Santiago – which is lovely!). Agree with previous guests re: Na Morada das Parras – lovely food and friendly staff. We were lucky enough to get a table on the balcony overlooking the village. It is well signposted and the Albariño house wine fantastic – at 8 euros a bottle! Panxón – a lovely place – very relaxing and ideal to while away a couple of hours and stroll along the beach. Baiona – reminiscent of smugglers’ times walking through all the old lanes. Recommend ‘Novos Aires’ restaurant tucked away in the back streets (Rúa Porta da Vila, 24) – lovely fish dishes, tapas and all beautifully presented and very reasonable like most places here. Tui – well worth a visit – lovely drive through the forest and exploring the old town – lovely walk along the river and nice café in the main square.

We have loved our week here in this beautiful villa which is the perfect place for rest and relaxation. Enjoyed the Islas de Cies and would recommend a day trip, the boat leaves from the end of the port in Baiona. Beautiful views and lovely walks through eucalyptus trees. Parking in Baiona is easy in the underground car park near the castle entrance. Plenty of restaurants in Baiona but our favourite was ‘Na Morada das Parras’ which is just 5 minutes away and signposted from near Hotel A Queimada. Discovered the bakery (Panaderia) in the main street, open 9.00-13.30. It is on the opposite side of the road to Siglo xxii, a small bar which is great for a quick beer with the locals.
