Very nice villa set in a superb location. Besides the stunning vista the thing that struck us most was the tranquility of the surrounding area. Only the waves breaking upon the nearby beach and occasional clang of goats bell to disturb the quietness. Places visited: Assos- a lovely place to sit and relax. Attractive setting. Well worth visiting. We enjoyed lunch at Nefeli-Anmit. Fiscardo- we spent most of the day watching the boating activities starting with morning coffee at Ellis and much later, lunch at The Captain’s Cabin where the cheese and spinach pies are delicious. In fact afternoon main meal we asked for more cheese and spinach pies to takeaway and they obliged. Ai Jerusalem Beach- enjoyed snorkelling there, followed by a nice lunch at Odisseas Taverna, sitting beneath the grape vines. Summary: our lasting memories of Kefalonia would be it’s quiet twisting roads winding their way through mountainous terrain.

Arrived on a hot sunny day and after a long drive north were pleasantly surprised by the view from Dorethea. Our days always tended to return to sit on many of Dorethea’s locations up and down sitting with a glass of Kefalonias’ finest Robola wine watching the view or sunset. Over the week we have seen it in all weathers. We found most tavernas in the area serve a good quality of food, service and value for money. The ones we enjoyed the most were Kefall-Ointa in Maganos, Acqua (place for dreamers) Alaties beach and Manopmoe for cocktails and a meal. During our week our travels took us to Assos which we found a great place for lunch and chilling out. Myrtos Beach- all been said before in tourist brochures but worth a visit. Agia Efimia- pleasant harbour full of sun-sail holiday flotillas. Sami- large town and in our view a place to pass through on the way to a great Antisami beach. A long beach with plenty of parking places and a couple of snack bars.

What a fantastic company. I booked very last minute with some unexpected leave and expected to struggle but everything was sorted out for me quickly and efficiently. The rep, Mandy, was excellent. The villa was exactly as described so no nasty surprises just absolute bliss.

Villa fantastic, views amazing, love the WiFi!! Nice taverna at Jerusalem beach, harbour at Ayia Efima worth going to. Best harbour and village is Assos in our opinion! Picture views etc. Didn’t like Sami, too touristy! Nice bay and restaurants in Fiscardo. Ate at the Captains Cabin, very nice! Vintage rep Mandy very good and Christina the maid was very lovely. All in all a proper Vintage holiday had in Kefalonia and we will be back.

Wow, what an amazing spot to sit and gaze at the views! We have loved the traditional style of the villa and having the balcony off the bedroom for the sunsets has been a real treat. Snorkelling early mornings at Jerusalem, lovely idyllic bay when the water is still and crystal clear, is a must! So many fish! We ate most evenings in Fiskardo, so many beautiful buildings and inviting places to sit and while away some time but we enjoyed the food so much at Captain’s Cabin we went back 3 times. Also ate at Tassia and the Grillhouse- all good but Captain’s Cabin was our favourite! The pina colada at Theodora’s was yum too! Yesterday we took the dusty route to Myrtos before the lights. We got lost and missed the turning but once you’re on the right road you know it as all the vegetation was white with dust and looked like a winter wonderland. Myrtos- amazing- wild waves. 5 days- not enough time to explore this beautiful island- 2 weeks next year!!

Dorethea is a fantastic spot and very nicely done in every way. Mandy was extremely helpful with advice and general information and Christina the maid came three times which we have never had before. It is a lovely villa, and probably equal top in the list of Vintage villas that we have rented. Thanks for another great holiday and for finding it...!

We have had an amazing week staying at Dorethea, the house is everything we wanted, just such a shame we haven’t been able to use all the terraces due to cooler weather- sure this won’t be a problem in the coming months! We never did walk to the beach but lunch when we drove there was fantastic! The sardines and aubergine was something else! Would recommend Acqua for cocktails and meze- plus loved the red wine too. Assos is so pretty and worth the drive down, drove down to Sami and went to Melissini Lake- stunning! Loved all the restaurants in Fiscardo, but especially Tassia and Elli’s. Overall, have loved our stay, the views from Dorethea are just magnificent, have loved it and will be back. All our thanks to Mandy for all her help and recommendations.
