Client Reviews for Casa de Sorro

Excellent pre-departure pack with a very useful booklet and map. Best directions to a property we have ever had!

We have had a delightful 2 weeks here in Portugal. Although we spent a fair amount of time here soaking up the sun by the pool, we had some enjoyable days out! We went pedaloing in Ponte da Barca, had a few nice lunches out in Ponte Lima and loved the night time illuminations. The view from Monte de Santa Luzia is not to be missed and the funicular train ride was a new experience! Also, the stairway to heaven in ‘Bom Jesus’ near Braga is impressive and is surprisingly quiet, as are the granaries of the National Park.

We have just enjoyed a very relaxing & laid back fortnight. Casa de Sorro is a delightful house in a beautiful area. The pool & gardens, along with lovely views & the gentle sound of church bells have been a real joy! We did not do a lot of sightseeing as most days we could barely tear ourselves away from the pool. We did however spend a day at the coast at Amarosa. The beach there is beautiful; white sands and turquoise water. Not at all crowded but with good Facilities (inc lifeguard) and very easy to get to, with easy parking close to the beach. Enjoyed a very good meal at Cunha Restaurant down in the village. Nice food and a very friendly & helpful service.

We have spent a wonderful week in Casa de Sorro. The house is perfect for our needs. This is our first visit to Portugal but not our last! There are many great places to visit but don’t miss Guimarães and Viana do Castelo. If you should venture as far as Valença you can tour the ramparts, buy some linen and have an absolutely top quality lunch at the Pousada in the old town. All of our local dining experiences have been good but we must make special mention of ‘Petiscas’ on the other side of the bridge at Ponte de Lima. .
