Client Reviews for Casa Susi

We can only add to all the other positive comments about Casa Susi. We’ve enjoyed a “home from home” for the last week. The house has plenty of space and is very well equipped (e.g. spices available in the kitchen; plenty of towels etc). We enjoyed eating outside on the patio and then taking the odd plunge in the pool or playing table tennis in the peaceful garden. No major room for improvement, although the children would have appreciated faster internet! There is plenty to do if you tire of relaxing next to the pool, both in Baiona itself or day trips within Galicia or Northern Portugal. The walk down into town from the Paco Duran restaurant is steep at times, but a nice alternative to the traffic in town and tight car parks. It took us around 20 minutes down and five minutes extra back up. Further afield, we enjoyed cycling and kayaking along the Minho river and would recommend contacting Mercedes at, who gave us friendly and reliable service.

Hugely impressed with the way Vintage Travel resolved position with car hire and late arrival at Casa Suzi as a result of flight delays.

Dear Susi and family, Thank you so much for letting us make a home in your wonderful villa for the last 2 weeks we have enjoyed such a fantastic holiday! The beaches have been a real highlight with Patos being a popular one with the children due to the fantastic surf schools. We would thoroughly recommend Prado Surf School, they did a great job with our 6 and 9 year old – but catered for 4 years up. One of our favourite places to eat was the Pulpena on the way into Baiona – their Pulpo a la Plancha was delicious. We found so many fabulous restaurants though – there are too many to list! We also used the car park at the Castle, it was always easy to park up in – even with our roof box and is open 24hrs a day. The castle was a real highlight as well – absolutely stunning. The house has been perfect for us and the children have really enjoyed the pool! Thank you very much too for responding to us so quickly with our queries and questions. It’s been a fantastic 2 weeks! With love Ginger, Julie, Ava, Alex and Rory

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Susi. The villa was comfortable, quiet and one of the best equipped we have ever stayed in. The games room was a huge hit with everyone and we also enjoyed the garden and the pool and the great view. Baiona is a lively centre at night and we would have gone out more often if we could have walked back. We did find a steep and picturesque walking route into town starting from Paco Duran (need to be fit and not suitable for after dark!) Best trip was to A Guarda and the drive up to the Celtic ruins with superb views across to Portugal. The Isles are lovely but you need to book well in advance. Also enjoyed Santiago de Compostela and Vigo (but chose a day in Vigo which was a Saints day and all shops shut!) We would have liked to stay longer! Thank you

Thank you Casa Susi! We have had a great time. Dan (11 yrs old) became quite good at table tennis and we’re to get one asap. Katie (16) and Mum loved the exercise bike and we’re to get one asap! We had mixed weather but it didn’t spoil the holiday. The villa is so well equipped it was lovely staying in and watching family DVDs and playing Spanish Monopoly etc. Milly (14) loved the burger at Mendoza Hotel. We loved Paco Duran. Cies Islands trip was great. The walk to the lighthouse is a must. Go to Tui and walk across the bridge to Portugal – the old bridge not the new one! Built by Eiffel before the tower. Patos beach our favourite – waves and bodyboarding. Carrefour cooked chickens a great lunchtime takeaway. Castle walk beautiful. Car park next to it was used a lot. Hard to eat before 8.30 which took some getting used to – we’re British! Thank you Susi for getting us a new DVD player when the existing one broke. The villa had everything we needed and more. Two years ago we rented another VTravel Baiona villa. That was great too but with the children older Casa Susi had more for them – bigger pool, table tennis etc.

Thank you for a lovely villa. Great location and the views of the mountains caused much discussion over the week. A walk around the Fort was very enjoyable as was the trip to the Cies Islands.

Casa Susi has everything you could want – very clean and a great pool. Thank you for the welcome pack – much appreciated. Highlights: • Chipirones a la Plancha in O Mosquito, Old Town, the best! Along front. • Os da Ponte Restaurant, Baredo – good food and fantastic sunsets • Horse riding at Rancho Picadero – very friendly • Playa America – very pleasant walk • Mondariz Spa on a rainy day • The fillet steak (solomillo) from butchers A Nosa Rasa – fantastic • Fabada in Jaqueyri, Old Town Baiona and their smoked fish mixed plate • The Old Town for atmosphere • The pollet corral (cooked chicken in Carrefour) • The fresh orange juice every morning thanks to our own juicer, simple pleasures! • View at night of Baiona from mountain behind. Best appointed villa ever stayed in! Thanks

Lovely villa. Really enjoyed the area and found the travel guide very useful.

Casa Susi is just lovely! It's spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean, plenty of linen/towels, super pool and within easy driving distance of some very nice beaches and restaurants. Panxon beach was less crowded with a very reasonable small beachside bar/cafe. Illas Cies a 40 min ferry ride from Baiona, scenic walks with great views from the lighthouse, beautiful sandy beaches, sea very cold! Mendoza restaurant very good for both seafood & meat dishes - menu also in English which was most useful. Great holiday in a lovely villa in an excellent location. Vintage very good to deal with.

A beautiful house in a great location. Would definitely recommend it. We had lazy days by the pool and lovely visits to Islas Cies, Valenca, Santiago and Combarro. Surf lessons on Patos beach were a hit.
