Client Reviews for Danai

Danai is in a great position overlooking the harbour with the pleasure of watching boats coming in and out of harbour. The pool is a good size and there is plenty of space around to sit in sun or shade. The only drawback of its lovely position is the access road by car is a rough, rocky narrow road which local taxis will not use. You can walk into town down a zig-zag concrete road but this means a very steep uphill walk back. Hence getting back to Danai in the evening after eating out with a few glasses of wine is problematic. There are some great walks in the local hills and mountains especially on marked trails T1,2 and 3, especially with detours to monasteries. We drank the tap water at Danai and replenished our water bottles at springs along the way with no problems. We also gathered wild herbs along the way for cooking back at Danai - we avoided the eating out problem by cooking, eating and drinking at the villa. All in all Danai is a very good place to stay.

Vintage Travels response:
Thank you for your comments Miss Newbury. In common with many houses in Skopelos the last part of the access to Danai is an unmade track which taxi drivers can be reluctant to use even though, with normal care and attention, it is very passable for most cars. From where the asphalt road ends / taxis drop you off to the entrance of the house is a distance of about 350-400m. We are delighted that you had such a lovely holiday and hope we can assist with your plans once again in the future.

We had a great, relaxing holiday at Danai
