Client Reviews for Sous les Etoiles

This was an excellent property in a picturesque rural setting. We had a great welcome from the owners Sabine and Benjamin and a lovely welcome pack. The small local Bastide town of Villefranche de Perigord was a lovely place to spend time with good cafes, restaurants and a nice range of small shops. The local Auberge, around 300m away, is very popular. We managed to book for Sunday lunch which was excellent - very traditional and good value. There are many quiet roads and lanes which are perfect for cycling and walking. Nearby there are many pretty towns to visit ...Sarlat, Monpazier, Manflaquin etc. Outside there is a lovely pool, a great outside kitchen where we did most of our cooking and very spacious grounds. The house is on 3 levels with two very large bedrooms in the attic. Downstairs there are a further two double bedrooms, one with a great view over the pool. The house can easily be divided for a small or large party. Overall, highly impressed...we felt very at home here from the minute we arrived. We would certainly recommend.

This is our third time of using Vintage Travel and on each occasion we have not been disappointed. Booking was easy, payments easy, documentation sent promptly, Villas have been excellent, and welcome packs very generous. It is also very considerate that bedding and towels are changed on a Saturday and the villa cleaned, all in all most impressive and that service is something we have only found through Vintage Travel.

Before booking, we were slightly concerned that Sous Les Etoiles would be far too big a property for just the two of us, but the house is so well organised that the extra rooms are locked away and the remaining accommodation feels spacious but manageable. M. and Mme Dachary have renovated and equipped their property to a very high standard and we were extremely comfortable there. Fully opened up, it would also be great for family use and the owners have made every effort to ensure the safety of the pool for young children. The fact that it is also heated is a real bonus. We loved the area, which has a wealth of well marked country walks and pretty villages, not to mention some impressive castles and great markets. There is also a Ferme Auberge within easy walking distance of the house which serves copious amounts of local fare.
