Client Reviews for Pazo de Ceilan

Many thanks to Alfonso for his welcome to his beautiful home. We have had a lovely 2-week stay and seen some wonderful parts of Galicia. The Atlantic beaches are amazing. The best market was Noia (Sundays). Best restaurant we found was ‘Vacavella’ at Bertamiráns (9km). Also ‘The Imperial’ in Negreira was so welcoming and very good value. Ponte Maceira is a lovely river for swimming and rope swing. The local tennis courts in Negreira are great. As previous visitors said, Alfonso went above and beyond to equip and stock the house for our stay. Thank you.

We have enjoyed our week in your fantastic house. It’s marvellous to be in the garden and there is a lot to do; swim, play tennis (at the local courts) and much more. The surrounding area is beautiful with pretty beaches and villages. Vigo and Santiago are lovely cities and have lots to see. The house itself is so nice, the bedrooms are amazing with a very cosy feel with lots of beautiful pieces of furniture. Thank you very much!

What a beautiful old house with so many treasures inside! We've had a gorgeous two weeks relaxing, playing pool and swimming. The river beach was excellent, perfect temperature for swimming and stunning doing a little walk heading upstream. Thank you Alfonso for such hospitality - the bread and welcome edibles were much appreciated - the lovely bakery in Negreira was frequented often!

We had a lovely time, we really enjoyed the pool, the BBQ and the pool table.

We enjoyed some beautiful weather this week, hot enough to even jump in the beautiful pool. We had a really wonderful day down at the river with the canoe and another one at Nemina Beach. The Medieval Festival in Negreira was a great surprise and brilliant fun. Santiago de Compostela was absolutely gorgeous in the evening – we highly recommend Abastos 2.0 by the market for the menu del dia. Yum! A Coruña was also an excellent day out – great shopping. The rest of the time was spent enjoying this beautiful home and garden on our first family holiday in 10 years. Especially thank you to Alfonzo for being so kind and generous in the organising and welcoming of our stay. Many, many thanks!

We’ve had a wonderful week here in Ceilan and thank Alfonso for his warm welcome and the use of his beautiful house. Even when it rained, it has been a very comfortable and homely place to stay. The kids particularly enjoyed the pool (table) and pool (swimming), whilst the adults have passed many hours in the reading room. The best day out was a visit to Camariñas, walking out onto the peninsula to find a beach of our own. Although other worthwhile visits include visiting Muros (beautiful beaches and characterful town), the Tapia River Beach which was great for the kids with lots of shade. And of course Santiago itself which is just stunning. A wonderful place to wander around, tapas-hop and just pass the time. The undoubted gastronomic highlight was a visit to Casa Barqueiro in Negreira which can be unreservedly recommended. The best Pulpo (Octopus) by far and the freshest Navajas (Razor Clams) and lobster to die for. Not cheap but so worth it!

An absolutely stunning house and the garden & pool area were a delight. We had a lovely stay - thank you! The Tapia River beach recommended in the visitor file was great with young kids. The local shop 200m up the road is very convenient and meeting the locals there was a real pleasure.
