Client Reviews for Pazo de Ceilan

We enjoyed some beautiful weather this week, hot enough to even jump in the beautiful pool. We had a really wonderful day down at the river with the canoe and another one at Nemina Beach. The Medieval Festival in Negreira was a great surprise and brilliant fun. Santiago de Compostela was absolutely gorgeous in the evening – we highly recommend Abastos 2.0 by the market for the menu del dia. Yum! A Coruña was also an excellent day out – great shopping. The rest of the time was spent enjoying this beautiful home and garden on our first family holiday in 10 years. Especially thank you to Alfonzo for being so kind and generous in the organising and welcoming of our stay. Many, many thanks!

We’ve had a wonderful week here in Ceilan and thank Alfonso for his warm welcome and the use of his beautiful house. Even when it rained, it has been a very comfortable and homely place to stay. The kids particularly enjoyed the pool (table) and pool (swimming), whilst the adults have passed many hours in the reading room. The best day out was a visit to Camariñas, walking out onto the peninsula to find a beach of our own. Although other worthwhile visits include visiting Muros (beautiful beaches and characterful town), the Tapia River Beach which was great for the kids with lots of shade. And of course Santiago itself which is just stunning. A wonderful place to wander around, tapas-hop and just pass the time. The undoubted gastronomic highlight was a visit to Casa Barqueiro in Negreira which can be unreservedly recommended. The best Pulpo (Octopus) by far and the freshest Navajas (Razor Clams) and lobster to die for. Not cheap but so worth it!

An absolutely stunning house and the garden & pool area were a delight. We had a lovely stay - thank you! The Tapia River beach recommended in the visitor file was great with young kids. The local shop 200m up the road is very convenient and meeting the locals there was a real pleasure.
