Client Reviews for Maison des Palmes

We've had such a relaxing week! Mostly relaxing by the pool & playing table tennis. Enjoyed markets at Amou (Sunday) and Orthez (Tuesday). Dax worth a visit too. For a cloudy day we really recommend the Thermal Spa at Salies-de-Béarn. We loved the house & garden & enjoyed all our meals outside.

Great villa for large families and lots of space to run around! We have enjoyed the quiet but weather not great at beginning of week. Sundays can be quiet in France. First day, head to Pau and to Rue du Chateau, where there are 6 lovely restaurants open of a Sunday. The chateau is open but most of the town is not. Visit Pau on a sunny day and follow the 'City Stroll' and enjoy the shops and restaurants on the way. If you are after sun, beach, surf, then head along the Océane Altantique. The 'Plage de Contis' is great for families.

We had a lovely time in this villa, there was nice weather (most of the time!) We went to bull fighting, the water park, and to lovely dinners. The pool is lovely and this villa is amazing! (Definitely to be recommended!)

A lovely relaxing week in this villa. Visited Amou, Dax, Orthez, Lourdes and the Pyrenees. Ate out a few times which was good and very nice people to boot.

We have used Vintage Travel many times and this house is up to their normal standard - the bathroom is one of the best we've had. We had trips out to the local towns and markets plus a day in the Pyrenees which was stunning scenery.

Had a lovely week in this wonderful house, enjoyed the pool. Visited local markets including the Sunday market in Amou.

Thank you for a wonderful holiday - we loved the house, gardens and pool and the weather has been (mostly) wonderful. It has been such a relaxing setting and we have had some lovely days out exploring nearby villages and towns. A really lovely holiday was had by all!

We've had a wonderful week in this lovely house - so peaceful and relaxing! We covered a lot of ground exploring the region with Salies de Bearn, Sauveterre de Bearn, Lescun, Navarrenx, La Bastide d'Armagnac and La Bastide Clairence as highlights.

We enjoyed a mix of days relaxing by the pool catching up on books we've wanted to read and having days out touring the area. The house has a lovely peaceful setting and there is a good variety of wildlife visiting the garden. We would recommend a visit to Pau, the chateau is very interesting. A day trip to Biarritz is worth a day out...if only for moules & frites! A lovely break!

So loved this house and grounds, the perfect place to rest and recharge our batteries. Lots of lovely food and, of course, wine.
