Client Reviews for Islas del Río Miño

We have enjoyed staying in your excellent house. The pool was wonderful and kept the kids occupied for hours! The welcome pack was extremely generous so thanks for that. Area Grande is a nice spot, also good food. Restaurante As Brasas was very handy and good value, where we also had a take away. Our visit to the Bodega Lagar de Cevera was excellent and I invested in some wine and orujo made in their distillery.

We've had a lovely time in your fantastic house with the breathtaking views of the Miño and Portugal beyond. Valenca was a fantastic walled city to visit and we have had great trips kayaking up the River Tamuxe and then walking up twice to the swimming point. We would massively reccomend a visit to the Parque Natural at Monte ALoi above Tui. The forest at the peak felt almost air conditioned, and we saw some new varities of lizards, butterflies and dragonflies along the way. We had a very satisfying dinner at the local As Brassas and good seafood at Trasmallas in A Guarda and great swimming at Area Grande. For many of the restaurants in A Guarda it's worth reserving in advance. Fantastic, many thanks!

Wonderful stay, enjoying the splendid pool and local beaches. Enjoyed a good meal at the restaurant at Area Grande - but left the lobsters in their tank, and a truly fabulous meal at O Lagar das Eiras in their covered gardens. Sad to leave - the football pitch will not easily be forgotten by our boys - some epic penalty shootouts were enjoyed - now heading north to explore more of this beautiful country. Thank you.

Theank you very much for letting us use your beautiful villa! We have had a really refreshing and fun time this holiday, enjoying the beautiful views day and night and exploring the beautiful surroundings. The whole accomodation was stunning and comfortable, especially the beds. We enjoyed the pool and BBQ's in such lovely weather and we had lots of fun on the inflatables!! We also found a newish (we think) restaurant which had very delicious food on the beach Muino at A Guarda called El Perro Verde. Thank you very much!!

Muchas gracias Marta y Javier. A perfect relaxing holiday in this fabulous villa. For a group of 6 the house has everything, comfort, space, views, light, all rooms clean and of course the pool that is the focal point and provides such a great source of relaxation and pleasure. It was really everything we expected and more. The Pontevedra region of Galicia is truly a hidden treasure and we want to keep it a secret :) With Portugal so close this was a 2 country holiday and visits to Caminha, V N Cerveira and Porto are a must. On the Spanish side we can recommend the kayaking, horse riding, Vigo, Baiona, Islas Cies and the Resturant Eiras. The best local beach is probably O'Muino. Highlight for me was a day at Islas Cies.

Has a great week in this beautiful house. Weather was just perfect for two little ones lots of time spent in the pool and the fact we could cover the pool so they could run around was an added child friendly bonus! Thank you so much for the most comprehensive hamper of food it was really kind to think of so many things we might need. Lots of lovely things to do in the area now home to work off the coffees and custard tarts - the Lidl bakery will miss us next week!

I really enjoyed staying here for my weeks holiday. it's a beautiful villa and the area was lovely.

Thanks for the stay, love the house and architecture, especially all the raw concrete! A great location, lots to explore. Recommendations for O Lagar En Eiras are valid, we had a fantastic meal there, the evening sharing menu was fantastic. We used Animaminho (for bike hire) in Vila Nova de Cerveira and had a great ride out. Vila Nova de Cerveira and Caminha are both relaxed nice towns. All in all, a great stay. Thank you. (16/09/17)

Had a great time. Intended to be a relaxing holiday for us so didn’t go too far from the house but managed Baiona and Tui as well as several trips to Portugal. Ate in lots of local restaurants – our favourites were Puerto Guardes and Trasmallo which was a little more upmarket in A Guarda and for meat O Lagar En Eiras. We love the cockles here and found that restaurants often have them even if not listed on the menu – just ask. Loved watching (& walking by) the river – we have just watched a group of horses swimming from one island to another and being greeted by their mates as well as an eagle hovering overhead. The pool stayed lovely and warm and has been well used. Thanks to Marta and Javier for their hospitality. (02/09/2017)

We have loved our two weeks in Galicia and have barely scratched the surface of things to see and do! The house is amazing, both beautiful and functional – never get tired of the view across the river to Portugal. We spent a lot of time in the pool and relaxing around it, but we did also go out and about. Mount Santa Tecla is well worth a visit. Coastal drive to Baiona and a picturesque walk around the walls of the Monterreal Fort was good. We took the ferry across to Caminha which is lovely, some interesting shops and a lovely square to relax and have a drink. Our older boys loved the kayaking and our 7-year-old loved the playground at the end of the Roman Bridge which had the added advantage of a café to get ice creams, or a beer! He also loved going down the road to the Panadería for bread in the morning. We enjoyed barbecuing at the house but we ate out a few times as well. At Restaurante Area Grande, eating Pimientos de Padrón, drinking a glass of Albariño and watching the sun set over the Atlantic is one of my favourite memories of a fantastic holiday! Muchas Gracias Marta & Javier – Great hosts! (19/08/17)
