Client Reviews for Sterna

Our second visit to Xerosterni with Vintage, nice chilled out week. These are the things we liked - day cruise from Kissamos to Balas, Jon the English butcher in Vamos, John the Vintage rep - as helpful as you can get, Parasia taverna (just outside Vamos). We didn't like the Europop disco at Almyrida (Dad dancing galore!).

We had an amazing stay at Villa Sterna. We have fallen in love with this gorgeous villa. It is so comfortable and well equipped. The electric juicer has been amazing for freshly squeezed OJ every morning (at 50cents a kilo oranges are very cheap). For outings we really recommend Chania farmers market on Saturday morning - very fresh and very cheap and fun! Nice to walk harbour wall to lighthouse. Great lunch at "Toman" restaurant. On a cloudy day we went to monastery Arkadi - very special - and to Thronos for a fantastic family taverna "Aravanes" - lots of local produce, goats to pet and amazing view of Amari valley. Came back via Rethymnon - very pretty old town. Nice coffee "Cafe Cul du Sac" and great icecream. Locally here we loved Vamos (lots of music and great taverna Hasomeri. And Almyrida beach was brilliant - great waves/sea. Lots to do i.e. water sports, lovely Cafe Francoise for drink/snack and Psara very good fish restaurant. And John Eley our rep has been utterly brilliant, so so helpful, made our trip!

What a privilege to be the first people in this fantastic house! It has been beautifully done to a very high standard. Everything you need has been thought of; the pool area and courtyard are your own private oasis. We enjoyed walking around peaceful Xirosterni where the little shop has pretty much everything you need. John (our Vintage Rep) pointed us to great tavernas - we would recommend Xasomeri in Vamos (takes a bit of finding!) and Parasia in Kaina, quality, great food, great place. we did the 45 minute drive to Chora Sfakion and Frangokastello, really enjoed both. Have fun!
