Client Reviews for Casa del Molino

This is a truly lovely house with magnificent views. We were a party of nine adults, there for 2 weeks, all family for a special birthday and had a wonderful time. The house is large and well equipped and very comfortable. The swimming pool was lovely and well used all holiday. The local village is charming with the little shop providing all your needs and the very pretty stream with the old mills runs next to the house making a lovely walk to the shop. You are spoilt for choice for beaches but we liked the one you could walk to the best. There are many restaurants around serving excellent food at very reasonable prices. We had a great birthday dinner at The Taberna Maruca near Sanxenxo which we would highly recommend, they even made a birthday cake. We took a boat trip from the very pretty fishing village of Combarro out to the mussel beds which included the local wine, freshly cooked mussels and oysters on board. A trip well worth doing. If you are interested in wine then visit the Martin Codax Winery nearby. The owner and his nephew Jacobo [ who is about the only person who speaks English ] were very attentive and helpful. All in all we had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful part of Spain and we would highly recommend this lovely house. Vintage travel were very efficient also providing lots of helpful information before hand. We very much hope to return one day.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Casa del Molino. I can only agree with all the other reviews. From the support we received from Vintage Travel to the warm welcome my son and his wife received on arrival (we all arrived separately) and the superb villa and grounds, we hardly wanted to leave! The weather was exceptional and we were a family group of eight adults and three children. The pool was the highlight of the holiday for the children, but we really appreciated the beautiful house and grounds and the views from every angle. This was a holiday I will always remember with pleasure and gratitude to the family who share their lovely home.

This house is a great holiday space for a big group. There is a number of activities you can do in the house like ping-pong, table football, basketball and there's space for kids and adults to run around. Then there are the mills (la ruta de los molinos) going past the house, following a beautiful tree line along the stream, some mills have tables for picnics. Also, the coastline along the estuary offers numerous calm beaches - not too crowded. There are many restaurants serving good quality local food that you can take home or eat in. The house has good areas like living room with TV, the kitchen and dining room are spacious. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms. We used the outside BBQ area to cook churrasco. There are pool side showers and toilets. Playroom with its toilet. Good shaded area areas in the garden for those days too hot for us. Outside tables for drinks or meals. We all agreed it is a great house for a group with young children. The family greeting us were friendly, helpful and generous sharing the house history with us. We would recommend this house with no reservations.

I can only agree with the comments of the other guests in praising the house, the facilities and the location. We were 9 adults and 3 children in the 6 bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms. Everything was maintain at a high standard, including the pool and the garden. The weather was great (22 to 26C during the day and cooler at night) and the surrounding countryside is very attractive, with lots of places to walk and many small, almost deserted, sandy beaches. There's not a lot of culture to see, apart from Santiago de Compostela, which is well worth the drive. Don't chose the shortest trip on your GPS - it will take you through old narrow roads and will take much longer. The local region has spent a lot of money on new roads that are worth paying the tolls for. The GPS coordinates for the house are 42.422095, -8.740873. This takes you to the front door.

We had the most fantastic time. The surroundings and house were beautiful. I felt completely safe and secure and at ease. I never had to worry about where the kids were as they could not escape! The surrounding beaches were beautiful, once we worked out how to get there. The house was huge and the owner extremely nice. He was very welcoming and very friendly with the children. The facilities were also fantastic. Could not fault anything. One of the best holidays we have ever had.

The property was just as it appeared on the internet. It was wonderfully appointed and maintained. There wasn't a thing we needed that wasn't available. The information supplied by Vintage travel was very detailed and helpful. We enjoyed our holiday immensely.

Had very enjoyable holiday in Casa del Molino, house very spacious, with amazing views. There are very good local shops which sell bread, fruit, meat and wine etc within easy walking distance of the villa. There is excellent bus service , hourly on quarter past the hour to Pontevedra where you can get either bus or train to Santiago. Bus station in Pontevedra very helpful regarding timetables or you can of course avail of very helpful staff in any of the Tourist information offices. (catch the bus locally at bus stop opposite supermarket which sells meat etc on main road). Make sure you visit local fishing village in Combarro, history is clearly explained at various sections along these narrow streets. It's a short walk from car park at beach and up few steps ----- check out local bars/ restaurants here as well as the lovely souvenir shops, you will not be disappointed.
