Client Reviews for Maya

We have been travelling with you for many years... this must be around the 20th time we reckon. Consistent good service and good villas in great locations. Thank you.

We all had a brilliant time at Casa Maya. There is a brilliant pizza place called San Lorenzo in Sveti Lovrec and a good Croatian style restaurant which were both a good evening meal. The beaches at Cape Kamenjak are very nice, but get there early. Rovinj is very good but go either late in the evening or early in the morning to get parking spaces close to the town. Motovun is great, as is Hum, the smallest town in the world. There is very good ice cream along the seafront at Vsar and also in Rovinj. We had a great time and I hope we can come here again!

A lovely relaxing holiday with amazing weather. Had a spectacular thunder storm last night which lasted hours. Pool took quite a lot of cleaning at least twice a day. At Vsar we went to Konoba Gradina Grill on the way, and the staff were very friendly. Nearly all the towns have a Lidl on the outskirts e.g. Porec, Vsar, Rovinj and Pula. There is a little shop in Sveti Lovrec but it closes at 12 on Sundays. It is worth driving out to Motovun as very different from this area and lots of mountains. You have to park at the bottom of the town and walk up.

Thank you very much for your comments - the issue with the pool cleaning has now been rectified for the 2017 season.
Lovely villa - very spacious. Pool needs regular cleaning - filter system not adequate. Drove up east Coast from Brestova, lovely scenery but towns were very busy. Hills towns of Groznjan and Motovun were gorgeous and Konoba Mondo in Motovun is excellent and good service. Rovinj is well worth visitng, live jazz this week. Local pizza restaurant in Sv. Lovrec is simple but good food and service. Pula amphitheatre was very impressive. A lovely holiday, but a shame the weather turned poor for the last few days.

Thank you very much for your comments about Casa Maya. We have now rectified the issue with the pool filter and the pool will be kept clean throughout the 2017 season.
We have had a wonderful week at Casa Maya. Rovinj has to be one of the loveliest towns we have visited in the med. We did a fabulous boat trip with "Rent a boat" which took us out for the day snorkeling, swimming and sight-seeing. We went out with them again one evening from 7:30-9:30 for sunset and to see dolphins. We also spend a day on Cres island (just pitch up at the ferry at Brestova and it takes 15 minutes) which was a long day but worth it for the stunning scenery. We have enjoyed the boiling hot weather and relaxing by the pool - all in all a lovely holiday.

Enjoyed the peacefulness of Marfardini. The villa is very comfortable and the pool is great fun. We have enjoyed visiting Porec, Premantura and took a trip to Cres that was worth the time and effort. San Lorenzo's in Sveti Lovrec has great pizzas, and all the food we have had has been delicious. The Croatian people we have met have been kind, fun and caring.

We have enjoyed glorious weather throughout our visit, 30 degrees + at times so the pool has been most welcome and used everyday. We have visited Porec, Rovinj, Novigrad, and Labin. We have enjoyed the variety of restaurants and activities in the area such as Dinopark.

We've had a very relaxing week - the villa is lovely and Istria is beautiful. We've discovered some great places such as Rovinj, which is a lovely place to wander around with plenty of good restaurants and especially great if you like fish. Buje, Vsar, Goznjan, Novigrad and Porec are all worth visiting and shopping for a while. Groznjan has lots of small arty shops and studios. We had excellent meals at Konoba Nono (just outside Umag) and the restaurant at Danijeli. The restaurant San Lorenzo in Sveti Lovrec is also great - definitely recommend the sea bass. All in all we've had a lovely holiday.

First impressions of the villa, very spacious and more rural than we had anticipated. We discovered that Sveti Lovrec is much more than a collection of little cafes by the roadside - well worth at least half an hours exploration on foot. It was an important military base for Venice in the 14th Century with a number of charming and attractive properties. Places we visited and enjoyed are Porec, Vrsar and Rovinj. Fantastic views from the road across the Kvarner Gulf and of the hilltop towns we liked Motovun and loved Groznjan.

A good villa, very comfortable and very peaceful. We enjoyed the solitude, the quiet and views and Croatia is very easy to get around. Sveti Lovrec has a very nice cafe selling ice cream, and there is a reasonable Konoba restaurant in Danijeli. Groznjan is superb and Motovun is okay but a bit touristy. Porec is beautiful and so is Rovinj.
