Client Reviews for La Olivilla

What an action packed week. Visited some old haunts (ports) from my yachting voyages - the sardines were just as I remembered them, delicious. A day at the motorbike racing in Jerez to see an Ulster man win the world championship. The highlight has been relaxing at the villa and what a fantastic meal prepared and served by JP and Maite - a memorable evening. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home and facilities. You have been fantastic hosts.

We did return! What a tranquil, restful holiday we've had. In fact, we stayed around the villa for much of our holiday, as the trees sheltered us from the wind. We ate every meal outside accompanied by the sound of mooing cows or hooting owls. What a treat. Thank you to JP and Maite for being so welcoming and for the delicious meal. Thank you Niki for being such a splendid ambassador for Andalucia.

Thank you for a wonderful week in your charming villa. Our girls Sophie (7) and Jessica (3) wanted to swim all day and what a lovely setting it was. We have enjoyed relaxing at the pool, exploring the streets of Vejer, having fun at Conil beach and a trip to Tarifa. Our highlight was the wonderful meal prepared by JP on our last night.

I enjoyed the "playa" especially in Conil. The sunny atmosphere was perfect for splashing in the pool - it even reached a whopping 40 degrees. I loved the olive groves. See you next summer.

Thank you JP and Maite for the stay, it has been amazing. Our house was great and we enjoyed the stay, JP's paella was really nice and so was his green pea soup. Thank you for being amazing hosts.

La Olivilla is an absolutely delightful house on a gorgeous countryside setting. The owners achieve a balance between being there when you need them and completely hidden at other times. The pool is set in the middle of a very well kept garden and was always clean. Jean Pierre cooked the perfect paella and he and Maite were wonderful hosts. This is a unique and special experience and we would record it to beach, bird and food lovers. Thank you so much.

A very restful place to stay. JP and Maite were very welcoming and we had a delicious meal on our first night. Tuna in Barbate, beef in Santa Lucia, tapas and a fab meal at the Moroccan in Vejer. Great day in Cadiz and on beach. Thank you for your kindness, the meals and our picture to remember you by.

The end of a lovely holiday here in a perfect, peaceful rural setting with such warm, welcoming and talented hosts. We particularly enjoyed whale watching from Tarifa, Donana National Park, Roman Ruins, Jerez, Cadiz, Arcos and Medina Sidonia plus....just sitting on the terrace upstairs and in the garden enjoying the lovely view, listening to the birds, fantastic! Nothing was as wonderful as dinner JP prepared, a real treat, they took so much trouble and we loved his stories - chatted over a glass or more of wine long into the night! Many thanks to the owners, so considerate, generous and fun. Thank you to Niki for your helpful advice and tips.

How lovely to return to genuine real Spain! This villa proved to be a unique gem - so restful, relaxing and restorative. Jean Pierre and Maite were very welcoming and informative about the area, as well as providing oranges and eggs. We preferred the beach at Conil to El Palmar. The beach at Zahara is also unspoilt, easy to walk along, isolated. The Roman ruin are well worth a visit, plenty of parking and a scenic drive there. We found Medina Sidonia worth a visit and walked through the narrow streets to the square, lovely cake shops! Making the steep climb to the castle was very worthwhile as we discovered spectacular views across much of Andalucia. A favourite pastime was to watch the birds whilst sitting on the balcony - storks landing in the fields, egrets alongside cows, kestrels hovering over the olive trees, house martins emigrating south. Thank you Niki for staying in touch and for being so helpful and enthusiastic about the area. Thank you JP and Maite for cooking us such a tasty and delicious meal and a most memorable holiday. The best holiday we have ever had in Spain.
