Client Reviews for Las Marinas

We had a great holiday the house and pool were lovely and the welcome pack of food is very useful. Elana, the owner was very helpful when we contacted her.

Lovely week here despite the very mixed weather! We enjoyed paddle tennis and sitting outside listening to the sea! Best day out was to the Cies Islands which we booked over the phone. Also loved walking around the fort, going on ‘The Pinta’ and having hot chocolate and churros in Baiona! The walk to the lighthouse (from the house) was fantastic! Valença was well worth a visit. Beaches around Nigrán are amazing. Thank you for a great week!

What a wonderful week! Fabulous weather in a lovely area. Thank you Elena for your welcome pack which was much appreciated. We love Galicia and had some interesting trips out. We liked Oia and obviously Baiona and found the driving easy on longer trips to Santiago de Compostela, Vigo, Tui and A Guarda. The walk around the back of the house to the lighthouse was great – it had fabulous views, flora and fauna. We thoroughly made the most of the pool and enjoyed the paddle court – making up our own rules! The seafood was had by all – we especially enjoyed the langoustines, but got more adventurous daily! We also enjoyed ‘The Pinta’ – very interesting, even for our daughter who doesn’t usually do ‘history’. (Also thanks Vintage Travel for thorough information). First time villa holiday. Really enjoyed the holiday and will be booking for next year. Thanks again.

Wonderful weather. Visited Taylors in Porto which we enjoyed – our longest trip. Valença fort well worth a visit as is the Cathedral at Tui. As others have said, Novos Aires Restaurant is great for the less fluent – great food and host.

Loved Baiona for a stroll and plenty of good places to eat. Visited Tui and the Celtic remains, Santiago, Pontevedra and the Miño Valley. The house was very comfortable and well equipped – would recommend it.

We have had a lovely relaxing week at Las Marinas! We loved the trip to the Cies Islands and the beaches around Hío but most of all enjoying your pool and paddle court! Our 3 young children have loved and spent a lot of time in the toy house. A wonderful house with superb views!

We love Galicia and Las Marinas, and the visitor’s book was really helpful for finding things to do. Our highlights include the following: • Cies Islands, on a hot day, are as beautiful as all the hype. • Watching Celta Vigo play Real Sociedad at the Estadio Balaídos in Vigo on a Saturday night. Easy to get tickets and park and eat near the ground. • The beaches near Cangas/Hío (about 40 min drive) are worth the effort. • Closer to home, we loved to surf (on the Spiderman body board in the playhouse) at Patos (near Panxón). • Praia America is a lovely long beach and we found a nice public tennis court at the Panxón end where you can play full size tennis for 3 euros. • In Baiona, the Pinta was fun, and there are loads of great places to eat: Novos Aires is the best by far. Jose (owner and chef) chose for us and we had a great meal and wine for 22 euros. - Mendoza and La Boqueria were also good – as was coffee and cake and dinner at the Hotel Talaso next door. • The La Guardia/ Santa Tegra drive was worth it (30 mins) to see the Celtic settlement, beautiful views of the Rio Minho and Portugal we had nice tapas lunch at the top. • Combarro village and Praia Lanzada were a bit quirky and we had our best lunch yet at Bodega O Bocoi in Combarro. Thanks to lovely Elena for all her help too.

So relaxing here at Las Marinas, that we lost track of what day it was! We loved the sound of the waves and the clear starlit sky most nights. Really enjoyed the pool and paddle court and many a match was played and our son, 11, won each time! We walked into Baiona, though its 6 kilometres along the road, it only took just over an hour and we got a taxi back easily. Taxi rank at beginning of the ferry pier. Pinta is well worth a visit (only 2 euros). There is also a bus, which stops outside the hotel, just before the hour (not Sundays it seems). We liked Pontevedra – good tapas.
