Client Reviews for Il Ciocchetto

We have enjoyed out stay here in Il Ciocchetto very much. We had bought our bikes and we were very pleased we did so as we were able to explore the close vicinity around the house. The scenery is very dramatic. Two weeks of brilliant sunshine. Our favourite visits were to Massaciuccoli, we visited the Roman ruins, the lagoon and wetlands. We lunched in Le Retonde. Then, San Gimignano - the town is worth a visit, historic and very scenic. Il Ciocchetto is perfect for two people.

We have had a wonderful relaxing week, perfect after our long drive to get here via Prague & Vienna. The villa is comfortable and the pool very welcome. We found driving to Lucca early was best for parking and more comfortable temperature for strolling around. Thank you Daniela for making us so welcome.

Another Vintage success. The villa is perfect for a couple, we had two great weeks of uninterrupted week’s sun and days full of birdsong. The surrounding areas are beautiful, particularly towards Bagni di Lucca and left on the main road towards Viareggio. Daniela and husband have been most helpful.

A lovely week here, very comfortable and pool a joy to return to! We found the co-op on the left (big yellow building) towards Lucca – excellent. Train is the best way to Florence but get tickets in advance as queue can be long. We ate at noth La Corte and Il Borghetto. Many thanks to Daniela and her husband for the warm welcome.

We have enjoyed a lovely week in this delightful, comfortable and quiet villa. We have enjoyed visiting the surrounding area especially the Puccini House by the lake, but mostly enjoyed we have relaxed in this pretty garden and cooled off in the pool – perfect!! Many thanks Daniela.

Great week here, thanks Daniela. We were not expecting the weather to be quite this hot! Fabulous sunshine all week long, have enjoyed every moment. All the local places to eat have been amazing; La Corte in Santa Maria A Colle, Il Borghetto in Nozzano Castello and Le Rotonde in Massaciuccoli.

Excellent villa, probably book again for next year.

One of the best things about being here is its proximity to Lucca. We spent a lot of time there, seeing places we hadn’t seen last year and revelling in the atmosphere, history, churches, restaurants, bars, music and gardens… and the missing Chicken! See poster on the far side of San Michele square. Try the Roma restaurant for good food and fun. Nozzano Castello just down the road is worth a look. A trip up the Serchio valley to Castehuevo

Thank you Daniela for a wonderful week. Our highlights were wandering the streets of Lucca, Pisa – go early to avoid the crowds and visiting Greve - a long drive but worthwhile to take in the beautiful countryside.
