Client Reviews for Casa do Bosque

What a wonderful place and superb house, brilliantly run by Maria and Manuel. The facilities are wonderful and the pool area is out of this world. Thank you both we hope to see you soon.

We have had a wonderful fortnight here at Casa do Bosque. The villa and pool have been great and absolutely met our needs. Thank you to Maria and Manuel - excellent hosts. We have visited Afife and Moledo beaches, both beautful. Highly recommend booking ferry from Vigo to Cies Islands and spending the day on the fantastic beach. Ponte de Lima is as lovely as ever and Feira Novas was a highlight.

Perfect two weeks with some very hot weather. Spent lots of time swimming and relaxing in the garen. Enjoyed trips to Viana do Castelo, Ponte de Barca and kayaking in Ponte de Lima. Would recommend Acude restaurant - great views of Ponte de Lima and excellent food. Thanks Maria for a warm welcome - made our stay all the more enjoyable.

We have had a lovely week, with perfect weather. We've particularly enjoyed the market at Ponte de Lima, meals out in Ponte de Lima at Vasca das Cordas and Taberna Cadeia Velha, the garden festival in Ponte de Lima, Afife beach, Funicular to Sanctuario de Santa Luzia in Viana do Castelo - it was well worth paying the €2 to climb right to the top (though stairs are very narrow), Guimaraes (weparked below the big shopping centre for free) and of course lazing by the pool.

Well what can I say... a little piece of heaven. Have absolutely enjoyed being here. House is lovely, so quiet. The pool is fabulous. Manuel keeps it amazingly clean. Maria is the perfect host and very welcoming. Visit to the market well worth a look. Likewise a visit to the Atlantic coast. The weather has been perfect. Thank you for everything.

Wonderful gardens and pool. 2 year old grand daughter who joined us with parents had a wonderful time in the pool. Weather could have been better on occasions but we had some nice hot days around the pool. Thank you.

What a wonderful place to sit and relax. The gardens are amazing and the pool is the best kept we have ever had. We have eaten at several restaurants and have not had a bad meal at any of them! All in all a great stay with very nice hosts who were always helpful.

Very cosy when it was raining the first 3 days. Lovely to have such a big pool and space around it. The garden is gorgeous and the geese proprietal! Ate in a very good fish restaurant Tasquina da Linda on the quay, you can park in Viana do Castelo. Went to the market in Barcelos - good for cookware if you have the room and interesting to walk around. The town has several very good coffee/ pastry shops, amazingly cheap. Some lovely buildings covered in tiles.

A lovely 2 week holiday. We loved the house, pool and gardens and our so friendly and welcoming hosts. Highlights for us (beyond the pool and Ponte de Lima): Soajo, (walk around the little streets as well as seeing the grain stores), Caminha (loved the square), Barcelos for lovely shops and the markets, Porto (for a meal overlooking the river), recommend in particular Vaca das Cordas (the roast pork starter) in Ponte de Lima, and Cavalheira 2km beyond the golf course. But all meals out in towns above were all good. Beautiful golf course too with clubs etc for hire and no fuss re dress code. With many thanks to Maria and Manuel, hope to come again.

We have had an absolutely wonderful fortnight in Casa do Bosque. The villa is perfect, with everything we needed and lovely cool bedrooms at night. The gardens and pool make this property perfect though. Our boys (aged 8 and 13) loved the pool and spent hours playing in there and practising their strokes. We visited Afife (stunning in the sea mist but too rough for the boys to swim). Ponte de Lima is a lovely small town to wander around, with an interesting Roman history that our boys enjoyed. Viana do Castelo is a larger town, overlooked by the Basilica de Santa Luzia - well worth a trip to see the stunning views and beautiful church. All in all a truly fabulous holiday. Thank you to Maria and Manuel for your kindness and warmth.
