Client Reviews for Ca di Cicala

Our holiday here was superb. In reality the property is even better than described in the brochure. It has such a beautiful setting it is almost fictitious. Stunning unspoilt surroundings, well equipped, a nature lovers paradise. If you really like to get away from it all, which we do, then this is the ideal place. So often these sort of places are described as off the beaten track but are not. This property really is off the beaten track for once and that is what makes it so amazing and somewhere where we will definitely return. The locals were incredibly friendly, kind and helpful and from this villa location you have the freedom to explore charming villages and towns where you can indulge yourself in the most wonderful produce which is a joy to sample at the local markets with few tourists around. We can't wait to return but next time for longer. Thank you for having such an unusually lovely property and for a holiday we will always remember.

The entire experience from initial contact with staff to the holiday was enjoyable and recommended. Thank you.

Stunning location; the house is lovely and we had everything we needed. Excellent visits to Cortona, Perugia and Gubbio. Main restaurant at the top of the mountain served very good food. Cable car tested the nerves!

Lovely peaceful house. Very hot, so the pool was perfect. Really enjoyed the restaurant close by, and had our best meal in Cortona - fab place and interesting drive there! Lots of wildlife - pigs at night; and we were very excited to follow a porcupine along the drive at night. Trips out to Gubbio and Castiglione del Lago - hairpins made it fun! Even managed a homemade pizza in the pizza oven.

What an idyllic setting! The house is wonderful - tastefully renovated and fitted out - very comfortable and well equipped with every necessity. We enjoyed its comfort and the garden and pool. One evening coming home we were thrilled when a wild boar crossed the track up from the water hole - brilliant! Thank you for making a most enjoyable, relaxing holiday possible - we'd love to return.

What a wonderful spot! We have had a great time here over the two weeks. We'll miss the stunning valley, the seclusion and the lovely swimming pool (beware the steep steps!). The local wildlife has kept us fascinated... Everyone in the village has been very friendly and helpful, it's been a fantastic holiday.

Ca di Cicala was a delightful secluded retreat. Beautiful setting, lovely pool, imaginatively restored properties and just loved the outdoor pizza oven! We found the master bed in the summer house (downstairs kitchen) to be very hard but then just used all the duvets supplied in the blanket box which really helped. Loved looking at all the photos of the restoration of the property and it was lovely to be able to read some english novels from the huge selection. Little things like having loads of glasses and cutlery was surprisingly refreshing…not having to wash up after each meal when you only get 6 knives / forks etc… you can tell this is a much loved family holiday home and we felt very lucky to be staying there. Worked especially well as we were 2 families holidaying together and a small amount of separation was ideal. Adults sat out for drinks on the patio each night and I didn't even get too bitten by bugs, which is unusual for me! Overall, loved it and would love to come back again one day. Nik Harris

What a magical place! We spent seven dreamy nights here, had some beautiful meals and many adventures. On the way back from Perugia Jazz festival we chased a wild boar down the lane in the car, made friends with all the lizards round the pool and tried to read our destinies in the stars... A very happy and memorable stay.

A lovely relaxing week. We spent a lot of time lounging by the pool, but managed to get out for a few outings. Our 7 year old's favourites were pedaloing on Lake Trasimeno at Castiglione del Lago and the cable car at Gubbio. We did some great walks from the house... joining up with the roads back into San Leo Bastia. The village shop was very useful and well-stocked.
