Client Reviews for Fort de l'Eau

The property location and privacy were outstanding and everything we were looking for. Fort De L'Eau is an oasis of tranquillity with beautiful grounds lovingly developed over a number of years creating a peaceful haven for local wildlife with plants, trees and shrubs creating a lovely garden. The quirky house had everything required although most not needed for a relaxing and restful holiday. Roger's passion for his property and grounds is amazing and his hospitality outstanding. We hope to return again.

What a fabulous holiday we’ve had and such a beautiful place to stay. Thank you Roger for taking care of us so well and for the tasty basket of veg. Our highlights have been: Cap de Formentor, the café at the lighthouse is a must if you like pastries – delicimo! Valldemossa was very beautiful and after looking round Chopin’s pad we listened to a lovely piano recital of his music. Port de Soller and the tram ride were fantabulissimo and don’t forget the ice cream factory! Caves in Porto Cristo were amazing and we had another music event this time on the underwater lake. This is our last day sadly so we’re taking our 13 year old to Aqualand – help!! Thank you Roger for the petit souvenir, we will treasure it.

We have really enjoyed our stay here at Fort de l’Eau, and have loved being surrounded by beautiful views and gardens, as well as being able to use the swimming pool on a daily basis! We have had some trips out and would recommend Valldemossa as a picturesque town with lots of unique shops. Similarly, the train to Soller was another fun trip out. Cala Pi was a small and busy, but beautiful cove to visit, going earlier in the morning and coming back for lunch is recommended to avoid the crowds! The market at Santanyi on Wednesdays was great, with a mixture of fruit and vegetable stalls as well as clothes and handbags and local pottery goods. Slightly closer to home the restaurant Bistro Mercat in Llucmajor is great for some tapas as well as some other fantastic food. Staff are incredibly friendly, we visited 3 times! We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with wall to wall sunshine and beautiful scenery. Thank you.

Another delightful visit to Fort de l’Eau, this time with our daughter Ella. She was smiling, enchanted by its peace and tranquillity. Having been to Mallorca several times previously, we didn’t feel the need to venture too far. We simply enjoyed the rest and time together! Roger was as charming and hospitable as ever. Doubtless we shall return.

We came to Fort de l’Eau 15 years ago with our 3 year old daughter and promised ourselves we would come back one day! Now our children have grown up, we did return, just the two of us! The place has matured into something even more beautiful! Lovely to see Roger again, and he actually remembered us! The only trip we needed to do was to the supermarket – everything we needed was here! A blissful, relaxing, gorgeous stay. See you next year.

Every day one discovers some new plant or ornament in this wonderful garden, peace and tranquillity. Well done Roger, you have achieved something very special. May we suggest the following trip: Algaida – Sencelles – Inca – Selva and through the National Park – turn left off the MA10 a few miles before Soller and stop at Fornalutx. Try El Torro for lunch on the terrace. Great stay.

We have enjoyed our stay at Fort de l’Eau very much. A truly wonderful place – we loved the garden, planting schemes and the tranquillity. The perfect place to unwind and be at one with the nature. Things we did: Got up early to hear the dawn chorus – magnifico! I was thrilled to hear a nightingale singing (not so sure my husband felt the same way when I got him up to hear it!) Walked along the beach from Sa Rapita one day and from Colonia Sant Jordi on another day. (buying some local salt from the lovely little shop en route. If the weather isn’t very good, a visit to Palma, but try to get there by 10AM, the carpark by the cathedral is easy to get to. We enjoyed both lunch and dinner at Es Reco de Randa. Can recommend suckling pig and shoulder of lamb. We had a lovely lunch at Escrintia in Porreres, Menu de dia for 11€. (3 courses inc. wine, water, olives, bread and aioli). We did quite a lot, but how nice it was to relax by the pool enjoying the surroundings. We hope to return before long.

Having cancelled a holiday to mainland Spain we needed to find an alternative and Fort was available for a second visit. Booked it with no hesitation and have enjoyed ourselves as much as our first visit. Lovely holiday.

What can we say - except thanks to Roger for creating this little paradise on earth, and for being willing to share it with others. Thank you for your hospitality, your produce and the memories of our visit. We will always cherish fond memories of Fort

We have had a truly wonderful stay at Fort. This is a stunningly beautiful place. An utter heaven of peace and rural charm. We have loved spotting amazing flora and fauna, with nightly entertainment from the geckos on the blinds and many sightings of hoopoes, golden oriels and even a kingfisher at the coast. This place smacks of Roger's practical and ingenuity and Francesca's artistic flair and it has been an absolute joy to spend two weeks here.
