Client Reviews for Casa de Gondarem

The service from Vintage Travel was excellent (and you were referred to us by a previous happy customer, really easy to deal with, great choice of villas, really easy to use website and simple booking process (and good value too). The villa (Casa De Gondarem) was a delight and Northern Portugal a cracking place, lots to see and do whilst feeling just a little off-the-beaten-track. I would have no hesitation in recommending your services (and will do). Thanks!

We have enjoyed a fantastic time here in your beautiful villa. We canoed on the Minho from Vila Nova de Cerveira one day. The town is great to explore too – bakery and bars visited many times. Had a drink at the restaurant at Foz – lovely views over the river and then a short walk to plunge in the Atlantic. Vilar de Mouros was a real gem of a place – waterfall and tranquil places to sit. Also made good use of the villa and enjoyed the pool – beautifully secluded. We are tennis fans so the court was a real bonus. The gardens are also stunning and our only regret is that we only booked one week! Thank you so much.

Lovely villa, we have enjoyed the beautiful gardens and pool area - tennis was a bonus too. We kayaked on the River Minho and we also had a good afternoon cycling at Ponte de Lima. Delicious traditional Tapas at O Portão in Caminha. Thank you for a friendly welcome and a lovely stay.

Had a most enjoyable stay at Casa Gondarem. Keen to return, possibly next year.

The house was one of the best equipped we have stayed in. Have stayed in the Minho area before (also through Vintage Travel), so knew what to expect. Vintage Travel has never let us down (we have rented villas VT 6 times now). Would be our first place to look.

Great week spent at Casa de Gondarem. Lovely villa with all we needed in a wonderful part of Portugal we had not visited before- definitely a place to return to.

Lovely week back in a part of the world that we have fallen in love with. Places not to miss: Ponte de Lima – cycling from other side of the river at the nautical club, Museu do Brinquedo (Toy Museum), walking around town. Caminha – beautiful old town and don’t miss the Medieval Fair if you are lucky enough to be here then. Restaurants in Caminha: Muralha de Caminha – excellent fish, silly prices! O Portão great for tapas but service a bit slow. Viana do Castelo – Citadel and views spectacular, town is pretty.

Very pleasant villa – lovely weather – lots to do – good restaurants abound – Casa das Velhas is worth a visit as is La Scarpetta. In Viana, Portas da Ribeira has great fresh fish. Ponte de Lima is worth a visit. All in all, a very enjoyable week.

We all had a wonderful holiday, the sun shone every day. The villa had everything you needed, we all felt very relaxed. We loved the BBQ area, enjoyed many beautiful meals. The "Piazza" restaurant we highly recommend on the main road on the left heading into town and La Scarpetta (but check the opening times). Thanks for everything.

A great holiday had by all. the house had everything a family would need for a great holiday, including some wonderful tips from the visitors book. Enjoyed numerous games of pool when the rain fell and the pool was wonderful when the sun shone. Beaches we would recommend - Moledo and Gelfa (which is just the far end of Ancora). Pizzas from "Piazza" about 2km away on the road to Villa Nova. The town of Villa Nova was full of surprises so be sure to go along the river in the town and check out the various parks, climbing walls, cycle track etc. Great market there every Saturday morning. Caminha also worth a visit to/from the beach.
