Client Reviews for Quinta da Bemvisa

The villa was lovely, very spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished and with superb views. The grounds are huge! Pool area and tennis court were perfect. In the interests of health and safety it was good to have the pool a little way away from the villa, as my young grandson came with us. Everyone in the party was very impressed by the villa. My only suggestion is that it would be helpful to have a safe in the property.

We were all very impressed with Vintage Travel and the villa lived up to the pictures and all our expectations. The villa is owned by the Count of Calheiros and he could not have been more helpful. A fabulous holiday in a fabulous dream location, will definitely be going back and will certainly use your company again.

We recently stayed here for our parents' 40th wedding anniversay. The villa itself was stunning. Every room was finished to the highest standard and was beautifully clean, the villa had absolutely everything we needed in it and there was far more space than necessary. The facilites were also fabulous, the infinity pool was well looked after and in the perfect spot to catch the late afternoon sun, the tennis court was lovely and we enjoyed many BBQs looking out over the spectacular valley, all the way to Ponte de Lima. Everyone we met, those who showed us around, cleaned the villa mid-week, maintained the pool and checked to see that we were happy, were lovely. We would happily recommend this villa to others.

Fantastic property, massive space, comfortable and great views. It feels like a castle. Very secluded, down one track roads so you need a car. 3 hectares of grounds! The local shop in Calheiros has everything (literally) and the people were very friendly. Tennis court and pool are big bonus. Very well equipped. The owner is very helpful and got us everything extra we needed. Nearby, Ponte de Lima is a pretty little town with all the facilities. Garden has its own lemon tree which provided the essential ingredient for our gin and tonics. :-) A few rough edges to be worked out (only just on the market) but overall recommended.

This is an absolutely lovely country house which is simply but elegantly furnished. All bedrooms had en-suite facilities. It was very comfortable to live in and had everything that we needed for a perfect stay. The view from the terrace over the surrounding countryside is truly beautiful. We particularly enjoyed a swim in the pool before breakfast on the terrace and sitting outside after an evening barbecue. The house is in a quiet countryside location, but close to the pretty town of Ponte da Lima which has good restaurants serving local specialities, riverside walks and varied sporting facilities. Beaches are about 30 - 40 minutes drive away. Maid service was provided mid week for a light clean and change of linen and towels, which was much appreciated. During our stay we had a problem with the dishwasher which was promptly and efficiently sorted out by the Owner's office staff. The Owner kindly took the trouble to come over himself to check that all was well. This is an exceptional place to stay and I would highly recommend it. The only improvement I could suggest would be a games room.
