Great things to do near Triena
Hire a boat or take an excursion boat to visit the very famous 'little sister' of Paxos where the beach resembles the white sand of the Caribbean and the sea is great for swimming and snorkelling. Whilst there, why not sample some of the local wine which is coveted by the Paxiots? Well worth a day’s visit!

Panayia Island
This small uninhabited island lies off the east coast, close to Gaios, and is home to the White Monastery. Watch the gates open to the monastery and the locals travelling across by boat to pay homage on Assumption Day (15th August).

Walk the length of the island
Paxos, only 10km long and 4km wide, is easily walkable. Pass by tiny villages, old churches and olive presses as you enjoy the scenery around you. Fine coastal walks can be enjoyed on the east of the island, while the steeper slopes can be found on the west coast.

Hop on an excursion boat to the West Coast
Exposed to open sea and pounded by the waves in the winter months, the West Coast of Paxos is impressive to see! Limestone cliffs have been eroded into fantastic shapes whilst sea caves, free-standing monolithic rocks and Tripitos Arch can also be observed. An excursion boat is the only way to see this astounding view as rented boats cannot be taken to the west coast.

Head to Erimitis Bay
During the day, thousands of sea birds can be viewed from this fantastic bay. Head to Erimitis Bay in the evening and you will be able to enjoy the impressive sunset. Book a table at the popular 'Sunset Bar' which is renowned for being the best place to watch the sun set over the sea. Grab a drink, sit back and relax!

Exuding a special character all of its own and with friendly locals, Lakka is a good choice for a day out. Situated in the north of Paxos, there are numerous small shops, bars and restaurants to enjoy in this charming village. Head to some of the excellent beaches close by where you will find water sports, or take a walk through the olive groves towards the lighthouse that illuminates the headland at night.

Go to another island for the day - Corfu
Steeped in history, Corfu is a great place to visit for the day. Visit one of the most popular historic attractions on the Island, The Old Fort, and take in the magnificent views over the city from the top of the fort. Enjoy a little 'retail therapy' with Corfu being famous for making and designing gold Greek jewellery. Or simply just explore the city; there is much to see including palaces, Venetian fortresses and Mon Repos palace, the birthplace of Prince Philip.

The largest town and Capital of Paxos, life is focused on the harbour front; a popular place for yachts and local boats to moor. Take a walk through this colourful town influenced by Venetian and British heritage; along the way you can pop in to the great variety of tavernas, boutiques and old fashioned shops.

Olive Press Museum
Situated just outside of Megazia and open 11am - 2pm daily, you can witness the olive presses working and also take the opportunity to purchase local produce.
