Spectacular Sunsets
A 10 minute walk along the "Cami de Cavalls" bridal path takes you to the "Punt d'en Gil", a natural bridge formed in the rock as it reaches into the sea. The area is beautiful at any time of the day, but the views of the sunsets from here are amazing.

Go to the races!
Go to the races!
Trotting races are held on Sunday afternoons from 6pm at the Hippodrome that is a few minutes walk from the house. Friendly and fun, it is a great way for the whole family to spend a couple of hours alongside the locals. Bets are cheap, drink are available and if the children get bored there are trampolines and mini karts to keep them entertained.

Go back in time.
Visit some of Menorca`s archelogical sites. The Naveta des Tudons, just outside of Ciutadella, is possibly the oldest roofed building in Europe. Explore the `taula` and `talayots` and remains of Son Catlar, a prehistoric settlement some 8 km south of Ciutadella on the Son Saura road.

Explore Ciutadella on foot
Forget the time and soak up the atmosphere. Enjoy stunning views of the harbour from the Plaça des Born, take time to visit the Cathedral and get lost wandering around the narrow side streets. Visit again in the evening when you will find craft markets, street theatre and musical events held throughout the summer months.

Visit the market held on Friday and Saturday mornings on the main square in Ciutadella.
A good place for buying gifts, or that extra item of clothing you forgot to bring.

Hire a bike
and cycle into Ciutadella instead of taking the car. There are also clearly marked cycle routes all over the Island and maps are available from the Tourist information offices. The Cami de Cavalls goes from Cales Piques to Cala Morell, passing by the Punta Nati lighthouse, and this is a great off road route for mountain biking.

Pedreres de S'Hostal is worth a visit.....
Taking the south ring road, follow the signs to "Líthica" and visit the very deep old sandstone quarry. Follow the pathway around its depths and look out for the auditorium where concerts are held from time to time on summer evenings.

Drive to the top of Monte Toro..
Menorca's only mountain.the highest point of the island, and right in the centre. From the summit you can pick out every town on the island and enjoy beautiful views across the countryside. The monastery here is no longer used as such, but the lovely church, tended by nuns, is very special to all Menorcans.

Visit Binissues
The `Cami Dels Alocs` road is in between Ciutadella and Ferreries and leads to Binissues, an English style country manor house. Explore the museums and landscaped gardens before having lunch in the excellent restaurant. The views from the dining room are not to be missed.

Make a splash at the water park
which is just a short walk from Sa Ferradura.

Shop for local hams and cured meats
at El Paladar, Jamoneria & Delicatessen, where there is a huge selection of Menorcan produce as well as items imported from the Mainland.

For BMX enthusiasts
visit the Sport Bike and fitness center in Cala en Blanes. There are well designed circuits to suit all levels and bikes cost just 3 euros an hour to hire. Access to the circuits is free.

Playas de Algaiarens
These two beautiful beaches are completely unspoilt and a wonderful place to enjoy the sun, clear blue sea and sand and all with a backdrop of pine trees. Drive to the second car park and the beach is just a few minutes walk away
