Sant Salvador Monastery and sunset
It is worth the drive to the top of the hill of Sant Salvador, near to Felanitx. As well as the monastery which has a museum, bar and restaurant, the views of the surrounding countryside are magnificent. On a clear day you can see the Island of Cabrera Nature Reserve, or even witness a most beautiful sunset.


Local beaches and coves
The east coast of Mallorca has several coves and beaches which are safe for children, and others that are fun for snorkelling. The most popular beaches are Cala Sa Nau, S'Amarador, Cala Mondragó, Cala Llombards and a little further away Es Trenc.


Mondragó Natural Park

Anyone for tennis?
The Rafael Nadal Tennis Academy in nearby Manacor might be out of most people’s leagues, but aspiring players can usually book courts in local hotels or municipal courts in towns such as Felanitx.


Cabrera is an island off Mallorca`s south east corner.
A National Park and Marine Reserve, this is a wonderful day trip for those interested in nature and history. You can climb to the castle towering above a harbour used as a place of refuge since Roman times, swim in crystal waters, and visit the island’s museum. Bring your own picnic or buy lunch onboard. Boat trips along the east coast
There is a variety of boat trips leaving from Portocolom and Portopetro (Starfish)which take you down the east coast of Mallorca, visiting some of the lovely coves and, on occasions, you are allowed you to swim off the boat.


Sunday market in Felanitx
The market in Felanitx on Sunday morning is a colourful, bustling event where you can buy your locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as souvenirs and presents.


Boat hire
If you wish to witness the splendours of this gorgeous coastline from the sea or explore some of the beautiful sandy coves, why not hire a boat? Both Portocolom and Cala d’Or have boat hire facilities. Pack a picnic and spend a wonderful day enjoying the crystal clear waters.


Sóller and its Port by train
The old-fashioned train ride through the mountains from Palma (or Bunyola) to Sóller and back, including the tram to the Port of Sóller through the orange groves and back, and just sitting in the church square in Sóller enjoying a drink and watching the world go by.


Palma - Capital City
The capital of Mallorca is well worth a visit. The Cathedral, Almudaina Palace and Bellver Castle are very interesting historical buildings, then there are several contemporary art museums as well as plenty of shops.


Portocristo and the Caves of Drach or Hams
The Caves of Drach are certainly spectacular and therein you will find one of the largest underground lakes in Europe. Visits are on the hour every hour from 09.00 – 17.00 hours. The Caves of Hams are also very interesting.

Campos/Ses Salines. Botanical Gardens.
Take a drive direction Ses Salines sign posted just outside Campos and visit Botanicactus. There are approx 1.000 species of plants covering an area of 150,000 sq.ms. Open 09.00-18.30 hrs.


Planetarium
On the road between Sencelles and Costitx is the Mallorca Planetarium where in the evenings from Tuesday to Saturday, they show a programme about the stars and, weather permitting, a look at the stars and moon through enormous telescopes. Scuba diving
For the aficionados of this sport, there are opportunities around this coastline, including Portocolom Diving Club. Tel: 971 82 58 42. www.portocolomdivingclub.com.


The Calvario of Felanitx is reached on foot up steps behind the town.
Drive up the road Carrer Bellpuig (beside the supermarket Caprabo) continue over the roundabout, down to the square Plaça Pax. This is a blue pay zone where you can park the car. Walk left out of the square over Carrer Dameto up Carrer Nunez, turn right at the top of the hill (cul de sac sign). Go along this road for a short way and you will see the steps on your left by a sign Carrer des Cavellets.


The old ruined castle at Alaró
Make your way to the top of Castell d'Alaró - take water to drink as the last part of the journey has to be done on foot. The views from the top are breathtakingly beautiful! On the way down enjoy a meal at the Restaurant Es Verger where they serve tasty roast lamb done in a traditional Mallorcan oven.


Visit a winery

Visit Palma Aquarium
