Great things to do near Casa Gloria
Enjoy an evening stroll along the seafront promenade
that connects Sant Antoni with Palamós and 'people watch' from one of the many cafes.


Take the Tuesday sea excursion from Palamós-L'Estartit
(round trip) on the Marina Princess.


Go on a tuna fishing trip
from Port Marina Palamós. Afterwards wander around the cobbled backstreets of the town and visit the numerous 'tapas' bars.


Take the train from Caldes de Malavella and visit Barcelona.
There is so much to see and do in this vibrant city. The tourist buses are one way of ensuring that you see the major sights - just hop on and off and take it at your own pace.


Take a guided tour on foot and by sea following the footsteps of the Turkish Pirate 'Barbarosa'
who ransacked the town of Palamós in 1543.


Visit the Tuesday morning Market at Palamós
and have fun choosing the freshest of vegetables and salads - then head back to the villa, prepare a delicious lunch and follow it by a siesta by the pool!


Try scuba diving at the Dive Centre in Palamós.
Try one of the seafood restaurants on the beachfront and sample the famous 'prawns from the Bay of Palamós'.


Visit the museum dedicated to fishing at Palamós harbour
and then watch the fishing fleet come in at 5pm when the fish auction commences. Why not round off the evening with a night cruise under the stars on a traditional Latin rigged Catalan fishing boat?


Try quad bike riding
at the track in Calonge (tel 626 20 27 28), or go-karting at Vall Llobrega (tel 696 58 91 01)


Walk amongst the vineyards belonging to the Celler Can Sais in Vall Llobrega
and visit the'l'olivera mil-enària' or millennium olive tree which has a circumference of over 8 metres and is said to be over 1000 years old!


Visit the beautiful virgin beach of Platja Castell
and visit the Pre-Roman settlement that rises above it on a rocky headland.


Drive up into the nearby Gavarra mountain range
and visit the ancient stone burial site 'Cova d'en Daina'. Stop for lunch at the medieval stone hamlet of Romanya de la Selva.


Take the children and spend a day at the Aquadiver water park
in Platja d'Aro, followed by an ice cream at one of the parlours on the main street.


Visit the Sobrestany Wildlife Park
- drive through and feed the many different animals that include llamas, deer, goats etc.


Visit the pottery town of La Bisbal
and purchase some handmade ceramics to take back home. Friday is a good day to visit as it is market day - a colourful and exciting spectacle.


Go to the fabulous city of Girona for the day,
taking in the beautifully restored Jewish Quarter, the Arab baths, the cathedral, its museums and the many shops. Why not pay a visit to Cacao Sampaka, C/Santa Clara, 45 to indulge in the finest products using chocolate - cakes, drinks, spreas, ice creams to name a few!


Visit the spectacular Greek and Roman settlement of Empuries
and on the way back climb to the top of the Castle of Montgri and admire the fabulous views.


Drive a few miles inland and visit the many ancient stone villages that make up what is known as the 'Golden Triangle'.
Stop for lunch at the Restaurant L'Arc Vell in Peratallada and enjoy a meal in the confines of its peaceful walled courtyard. After lunch visit the fascinating farm museum in the tiny village of Palau Sator.


Relax at the villa and try your hand at preparing your own 'tapas'
by following the local recipes you will find in the 'FOOD AND DRINK' section of your house book.


Take a packed lunch and follow the coastal pathway that skirts the rugged coastline between Torre Valentina and Platja d'Aro,
stopping every now and then at one of the many hidden coves to swim and snorkel.
