Visit this stud farm on the outskirts of Jerez, the most important reserve of Carthusian horses in the world. See over 200 horses grazing in natural surroundings, mares and foals.
Wander around the old town of Vejer
Visit this beautiful white hill top town and enjoy a formal meal or simple tapas at one of the many restaurants it has to offer. Or simply wander round its narrow streets, visiting artesan shops and watching the world go by.
Sip Sherry in Jerez de la Frontera
Visit one of the many traditonal bodegas and see how sherry, brandy and vinegar are produced. Tio Pepe is especially well organized with tours and generous samples! It's easy to find too.
Visit Tarifa at the far Southern Tip of Andalucía
See the kite surfers (you could have a go yourself!), explore the castle and the old town and marvel at the views across to Morocco; Africa is just 11 miles away across the Straits.
Explore Medina Sidonia
See the cathedral and the Roman fortress and explore the old town that was once largely owned by the wealthiest family of Spain.
Bring out that competitive spirit! Drive your own go-kart around the local track in El Colorado - just 5 minutes by car from the villa
Be amazed by the scale of these largely unheard of Roman remains. A whole Roman city nestling at the foot of a giant sand dune on the Atlantic Coast. Afterwards enjoy fresh fish or paella in one of the hippy beach bars.
The thing to do for romantics and foodies alike. Some of the best fish restaurants can be found right on the coast, in particular Conil. Enjoy a local catch whilst watching the sunset over the Atlantic ocean.
Visit Cape Trafalgar and Lighthouse
In 1805 the famous naval battle was fought just 5 miles off shore from the headland and you can begin to imagine the scene at this atmospheric and beautiful spot. The beaches here are superb too.
The old town is an absolute gem. Some of things to experience - visit the Cathedral, climb the Torre Tavira, explore the castle and get a sense of its naval history, or simply sit in a patio, bedecked with flowers and people watch.
Go Horse Riding
The stables at Sancti Petri are just 10 minutes away. You can organise an hours ride or a longer trek through the pine forests of Roche or La Barrosa beach.
Try Whale and Dolphin Watching
You can take a boat out into the Straits from either Tarifa or Algeciras to watch these amazing creatures.
Discover its cathedral and the exquisite Moorish palace of Alcazar. You can even take a city bus tour - it's a great way to see the sights.
Visit Doñana National Park
Take a boat from Sanlucar and see its southern edges or drive to Matalascanas and do the full tour in a 4-wheel drive desert bus! This is Europe's largest birdlife reserve and quite unique.

Take a Drive and Explore
Absorb the stunning inland scenery. The white mountain villages of Alcala, Ubrique, Grazelama and El Bosque are all within easy reach.
Visit Gibraltar for the Day
Definitely not Spain and not Britain either. A good day trip - the best bit is the rock itself so take a cable car ride or taxi to the top and visit the Barbary apes and St Michael's caves.
Take the Kids to Aquasherry Water Park
Located in El Puerto de Santa Maria. Enjoy the slides and flumes, there is also a pool and attractions for younger children.
Visit Conil Market
Plenty of hustle, bustle and atmosphere, every Friday morning.

Watch the crocodiles at feeding time
Get up close to crocodiles large and small at Kariba - the only crocodile farm in Spain - 10 minutes from Jerez.
