Go to the Beach
Just a short drive away and what stunning Atlantic beaches they are too. The best local ones are at El Palmar, Cape Trafalgar.

Just a few minutes away and you can explore its tiny streets and catch glimpses of magical courtyards and patios.

Sip Sherry in Jerez de la Frontera
Sherry and a surprisingly wide range of types of wine are made in the unique Sherry method and you can see it being done as you can visit several Bodegas. Tio Pepe is especially well organized with tours and generous samples! Its easy to find too
Visit Tarifa at the far tip of Andalucia
See the kite surfers (you could have a go yourself!), explore the castle and the old town and marvel at the views of Morocco. Africa is just 11 miles away across the gap.
Explore Medina Sidonia
See the cathedral and the roman fortress and explore the old town that was once largely owned by the wealthiest family of Spain.
Be amazed by the scale of these largely unheard of Roman remains. A whole Roman city, tucked in a curve of the coastline. You can follow your archaeological exploration with a great fish lunch right there on the beachside!
The thing to do for romantics and foodies alike. Some of the best fish restaurants can be found right at the beach so sip the wine whilst watching the sun sink slowly into the ocean. Wonderful!

Just 5 miles off shore from the headland was fought the famous naval battle in 1805 and you can begin to imagine the scene at this atmospheric and beautiful spot.

Spend a day in Gibraltar
Definitely not Spain and not Britain either. A good day trip the best bit is the rock itself so take a cable car ride, taxi & or walk to the top!
Nothing but Nature in the Natural Parks
Drive for miles through one of the natural parks - Parque de los Alcornocales or Grazalema - without seeing another vehicle. But remember that you are likely to come across cows, mountain goats and deer, and they have right of way......
All the Fun of the Feria
Experience all the fun of the fair at a 'feria'. Every city, town and village has one at some time during the year, with fairground attractions for the young (and the not-so-young!), music, dancing, and marquees serving food and drink. The party goes on all night, and if you find yourselves flagging, have some sinfully delicious chocolate and churros to perk you up.
Take the Children to Aquasherry
....A water park outside Jerez. Make the children the excuse and have a great time yourself on the slides and plumes.
Wander through the colourful stalls of local produce at the Conil Market
which is held every Friday morming until 1pm.
There are some great courses in the area and all are available to non-members. Montecastillo at Jerez and San Roque near Algeciras are the most famous but there are two excellent courses on our doorstep - Montenmedio near Vejer.
