Accompanying the immensely popular Atzi, we are thrilled to include Curreu (Atzi II) in our Ibiza portfolio. Nestling in its own private grounds, equally as appealing and destined to become equally as sought after, Curreu enjoys the same peaceful rural confines as its coveted sister property nearby and is also just a five minute drive from restaurants and amenities in the sleepy little town of San Carlos.

This idyllic campestral location is tailor-made for effortless relaxation. Views across the surrounding landscape encompass gently undulating pine clad hills and squat dry stone walls edging a patchwork of fields dotted with citrus, carob and olive trees. With little to disturb your peace save the occasional tinkle of a sheep’s bell or soft chirrup of cicadas carrying on the breeze this soothing pastoral environment is characteristic of a laid back and gentle side of Ibiza that is far too often overlooked and which we are sure will come as a surprise to many.

With its whitewashed external walls and authentically cubist architecture Curreu is the embodiment of a desirable Ibicencan country retreat. Laid out in a similar open plan style (and with a slightly larger floor area than Atzi) the living accommodation has a delightful air of rusticity and timeless appeal. Overhead substantial oak ceiling beams are interspersed with curved terracotta shingles and varnished wooden boards while well-chosen local furnishings and a subtle colour scheme prove a seamless link between the charms of a bygone era and the contemporary fitments and facilities of the kitchen, bathroom and living room. Home comforts here have certainly not been neglected!

Featuring an eye-catchingly designed water feature and gently descending Roman steps in one corner, the private swimming pool enjoys a wonderfully sunny position to the side of the property. Sweeping views across the countryside can be enjoyed from the adjacent sun terrace, lawn and various points around the grounds while an enticing covered barbecue/dining terrace and nearby patio provide ample shade from the midday sun.

Apart from offering good everyday amenities, nearby San Carlos is also a convenient hub from which to access the many lovely beaches that lie within a 15 minute drive. Cala Llenya, for example, has a gently shelving curve of soft white sand, good watersports, casual beachside dining options and is just a short stroll around the headland from the equally attractive Cala Nova near Es Cana. Head for the famous restaurant ‘Bigote’ at Cala Mestella to sample some of the island’s freshest fish while meat lovers should definitely take the trouble to seek out ‘Ca’s Pages’, one of those simply-styled ‘no frills’ restaurants that take a little finding (it is tucked away off the San Carlos-Sta Eulalia road) but which rewards visitors with a menu of mouth-watering freshly grilled local produce.
