  • Ground floor: Entrance hall with original kitchen hearth. Kitchen (oven, microwave, dishwasher). Dining room (access to conservatory/ garden room). Cloakroom. Front and rear conservatories. Utility room (washing machine). WiFi.  Central heating throughout the house.

To learn that the owners' occupation was interior design came as no surprise to our vetting team as we wandered from one beautifully furnished room to the next in this impressive country house.

The restoration of the 100 year old property has incorporated materials of the finest quality. Handmade tiles line the walls of the attractive bathrooms, plump sofas and soft lighting combine to create a cosy sitting room and the dining room opens onto a light conservatory where further cushioned seating and tables are designed to take advantage of the picturesque views.

The overall effect is without a doubt one of comfort, and yet the accommodation is not precious, the solid furnishings being refreshingly uncluttered.
Equally charming is the setting. The typically local village of Vilacoba, with its traditional stone buildings and vineyards, lies to the back of the house.  To the front, wide tiered lawns sweep down to form a sheltered arc beyond the swimming pool terrace, the views beyond this incorporating a scene of lush woodland on rolling slopes. In the background, the pleasant sound of the nearby river can be heard as it meanders its way through the valley below

A good range of amenities and a restaurant can be found in the nearby town of Moraña, which is 5km away.  Also close to hand is the historic town of Pontevedra with its attractive old quarter and nearby sandy beaches,which can be reached by way of a 30 minute drive.

 Internet provision is via a satellite connection.
