Spiros boasts magnificent sea views from its terraces and balconies plus a delightful, infinity swimming pool ideally situated to enjoy the vistas over the countryside to the stunning Albanian mountains opposite. Set in the tiny hamlet of St George with a scattering of houses, Spiros rests above the large village of Kassiopi (a downhill walk of just 2km).
Stretching out below, the vast panorama of verdant Corfiot countryside and cobalt sea offers a charming contrast of blues and greens to catch the eye and relax the soul!
Corfu's gorgeous north east coastline has translucent waters and Kassiopi offers three beautiful beaches (2km) to choose from, ranging from quiet unspoilt bays to sandy organised beaches with sunloungers and beachside tavernas aplenty.
The combination of the salmon pink façade of Spiros and beige roof tiles reflect the traditional colours of the Ionian Islands, whilst charmingly set against a backdrop of green fields, orchards and olive groves. Surrounded by greenery, the swimming pool has an infinity edge for stunning sunsets as sky and water merge on the horizon and a children's section for little ones to splash about in. The pool terraces are in the right spot to spend evenings barbecuing and dining outdoors.
From the ground floor entry level, a double and twin bedroom with ensuite bath and shower respectively both enjoy a shared balcony and those splended vistas. Descending steps to the lower floor, huge patio windows open from the main living area onto the pool terrace, framing the views and delighting the eye. An inviting mix of contemporary and traditional decor give a fresh airy atmosphere and the comfy sofas, practical kitchen and dining table and chairs fit in perfectly. On the first floor is a further twin bedroom also with ensuite bathroom and terrace.
Long thought to be the Capital of Corfu’s north-east, Kassiopi (2km) is a large, former fishing village with a deep harbour. The main high street is lined with an excellent choice of shops, bars, restaurant and traditional tavernas, whilst the quieter harbour area hosts a further selection of good cafes and restaurants. A stroll around the quayside ia always a pleasure, taking in the Byzantine fort and watching impressively large motor yachts compete for mooring space with the smaller (and frequently more nimble!) fishing boats.
Around the peninsula, a backdrop of stylish houses are scattered amongst the terraces rising up from the village and the long-forsaken cannons pointing seawards evoke memories of medieval pirates. Spread out over the neck of the peninsula,Kalamionas Beach (2km) is a blue flag beach where the water is crystal clear. Further along, the smaller coves of Pepitos and Kanoni each have their devotees.
Following the coastline south, Avlaki, Aghios Stefanos, Kerasia, Kalami, Agni and Nissaki are all wonderful beaches/villages to explore as is the verdant hinterland dominated by Mount Pantokrator and scattered with so many tiny, appealingly unspoilt hamlets.
