Imaginatively designed and recently built to a very high standard, Ca’n Paulo occupies what is surely one of the most appealing locations in south east Mallorca. Nestling in naturally unspoilt environs and looking directly out across the famous Mondragó Natural Park, this fine country home is, at the same time, only a few moments’ drive from charming Santanyí (3km) where all amenities including several excellent restaurants can be found; furthermore a stroll of around 30 minutes brings you to one of this coastline’s ‘hidden’ treasures, the sandy cove beach of S’Amarador.

Positive impressions begin immediately. A quiet country lane leads you to the house driveway which sweeps up to the impressive front entrance and an attractive courtyard, planted with lavender around a cooling water feature. Flooding the spacious ground floor with light, three separate sets of sliding doors not only make the open plan living/dining area welcoming and airy but also frame gorgeous views of the garden, swimming pool and peaceful rural surroundings just beyond.

With twin ovens, an American-style fridge-freezer, central island unit with breakfast bar and even a wine chiller, the stylish contemporary kitchen will, no doubt, prove a focal point for cooks – and their helpers. Just a few steps away the covered dining terrace looks towards the private pool, enjoying a position that is both convenient and, with a poolside bar virtually alongside, very sociable! South-west facing and therefore sunny all day long, relaxing will certainly come easy around the large private pool where the soft tinkle of sheep bells carrying on the breeze is likely to be the only interruption to your country tranquillity.

Imaginative bedroom distribution over both floors and, effectively, across two ‘wings’ on the first floor enhances both privacy and sharing options, particularly for larger families or groups of friends.

And wherever you go, inside or out, you are never far from those lovely far-reaching views across the Natural Park to the distant sea, inland to the little local settlement of S’Alqueria Blanca (4.5km) or out over the carob and almond trees to the church and market town of Santanyí .

Strolling, jogging or cycling around this picturesque area are all rewarding pastimes (a hire shop in Campos will even deliver bicycles to the house) while beach lovers have a most enviable selection from which to choose, many within very easy distance. Just around the headland from S’Amarador is the equally captivating Cala Mondragó or, a little further along the coast, you will find Cala Santanyí and Cala Llombards; each beach has its own unique character, atmosphere and facilities (including free WiFi on several). The notably pretty aspect of Cala Llombards has, over the years, been a prominent feature of countless island postcards and tourist board promotions.

*A barrel of beer can be supplied for connection to the beer pump at the poolside bar (approx cost €75 for a 30 litre barrel) – please request and pay for this locally with the housekeeper.
