Looking out onto the seemingly endless carpet of abundant greenery and woodland that encircles the house and provides such a pleasing sense of privacy, guests staying at Casa das Rozadas could be forgiven for thinking that they are in the heart of rural Galicia.  Yet only a short distance from the house, below and beyond the trees, one of the region’s principle roads provides easy access to the Caribbean-like sands of the sheltered Rías Baixas.

Only 8.2km away, the atmospheric fishing port of Panxón is just one of a series of charming coastal villages where the region’s renowned maritime cuisine is served fresh from the boats in beachside bars and restaurants overlooking beautifully unspoilt beaches.  Closer to hand, a small shop and bar can be found in the local village, just a 7 minute drive from the house.

Inside, the house offers all the comforts of an elegant and beautifully designed home.  Light floods through Velux windows in contemporary-styled bedrooms and in the open-plan living area the picturesque backdrop of scenic countryside is framed like a picture by a row of windows that line its entire width.  Sleek parquet floors, clean lines and a bright ambience lend a truly up-to-the-minute feel to this smart interior and yet from the outside the stone clad façade nestles perfectly into its natural surroundings.

Outside too, the same effect has been created in the spacious grounds where an elegant pool, flanked by a smooth terrace of modern design, sits alongside the exposed rocks of the natural landscape.  A typical stone ‘horreo’ catches the eye with its striking granite pillars raised above the ground to remind us of its original use as a grain store, still considered a symbol of great prestige in country homes of Galicia.  Completing the scene, a further terrace and areas of lawn provide a pleasing choice of locations for dining al fresco.

Please note:

  • We kindly request that guests do not smoke inside the house
  • Pets are not permitted at this property
  • Varying levels and some areas of exposed rocks within the grounds mean that young children will need supervision
  • The internet connection is delivered by MiFi, which is via a mobile network device.
