Full-to-bursting with wonderful Mallorcan character this beautifully finished, stone-fronted town house proudly sits in the picture-postcard hilltop town of Selva only 300m from the main square and all amenities that include two recommended local restaurants. The convenience of this location means a car is certainly not essential, in fact bicycles should be highly considered as there is a network of well marked and incredibly scenic cycling routes suitable for all ages and abilities criss-crossing the surrounding landscape (and cycle storage in the house garage).
Detailed and thoughtful refurbishment has created a property of great charm and atmosphere both inside and out. Once three separate buildings/gardens now merged seamlessly together, Ca’n Pulit offers excellent space for a town house, particularly externally where the garden, sun and dining terraces that fringe the private pool extend over several picturesque levels making it easy for everyone to find their own private spot in which to relax.
Looking towards the Tramuntana Mountains and backed by lush wooded countryside that rises into the hills around the town, the pool is particularly notable for its attractive green tiling and appealingly sunny aspect.
Internally, quality furnishings and tasteful local fabrics abound and it is obvious that all aspects of the décor, fixtures and fittings have been meticulously supervised by a keen, well-practiced eye. Original features such as the cobbled entrance hall, terracotta tiled floors, wood beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and window frames combine flawlessly with the up to date facilities of the (two) living rooms, smart kitchen and bathrooms. Enhancing the mellow coloured hues of the living and dining room walls is a striking collection of contemporary artwork, including some lovely colourful pictures of island scenes and several original works by the owner’s brother who is a talented local artist.
Selva is one of those picturesque and sleepy little towns so typical of the heartland of Mallorca and a visit to Ca’n Pulit offers an opportunity to experience the sort of laid back local lifestyle and customs many consider long forgotten. Wednesday is market day when the square fills with stalls selling fresh produce, clothing, shoes and assorted handicrafts. The annual herb fair is held every June, the agricultural fair every October and impromptu dancing, centered around the steps of Selva’s 13th Century church, often takes place. Nearby, the villages of Caimari, Moscari and Campanet also boast their own captivatingly individual charm while Roman Pollença, the sandy coves of Cala Sant Vicenç and the coast at Port de Pollença are all easily reached in around a 25 minute drive.
Terraced grounds mean that younger children may need supervision.
