Nestling into the hillside within a pretty enclave of traditional homes, this is a light and welcoming residence with colourful, airy rooms and wide outdoor terraces that look out across the swimming pool towards a wonderful sweep of typical countryside. Beyond clusters of dazzling whitewashed homes, the rounded tops of Lanzarote’s distinctive mountains loom impressively in the distance, whilst an outline of shimmering blue waters signals the proximity of the coast. A south facing aspect enables all three of the property’s bedrooms, as well as its spacious living room, to enjoy this impressive outlook.
Formerly home to the actor Omar Sharif, the village of Oasis de Nazaret offers an elegant restaurant and museum in the atmospheric surroundings of the Hollywood film star’s former home. This is just a short walk from Villa Oasis, whilst the village’s well-stocked supermarket and other typical restaurant are also within easy reach. Not to be missed however is the historic town of Teguise, the island’s former capital and a delightful centre of cobbled streets and typical squares that become a hub of activity on Sundays when the town plays host to the island’s largest weekly market. This is just 3km north of Nazaret and is accessible on foot for those feeling energetic, via a rural footpath that passes over the hillside above the village.
