Along the west coast, the Park Natural Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vincentina is also one of the richest natural parks in Europe, extending over 110km and home to over 750 known flora species and countless bird species including sea-eagles. It is also the only place in the world where white storks build their nest on sea cliffs.
