Occupying a stunning seafront position, this unique coastal home strikes an eye-catching pose as it looks out onto the ocean like a picturesque watchtower from an idyllic plateau of lawns, shrubs and smart residences just above the sandy beach of Fuente del Gallo.

Character abounds within the circular stone walls of what has to be one of the most individual and charming properties we have had the privilege to offer.  On the first and second floors of the tower, a mesmerising canvas of ever-changing maritime scenes is wonderfully captured by a series of windows lining the south facing arcs of the sitting room and principal bedroom.  Leading from one room to the other is a sweeping staircase, indented with pretty tiles and curved to follow the shape of the building.

Down below on the ground floor, the sea views can also be appreciated through the windows of the delightful kitchen where a cleverly designed layout has ensured that a full range of appliances, even including a mini-dishwasher, has been incorporated into its compact form.  This opens onto the dining room, where circular walls of partly exposed stone once again charm with their originality.  Beyond here, the three ground floor bedrooms look onto the garden from the more conventionally designed wing of the building.

To be within such close proximity of the beach and also enjoy the benefits of a private pool is unusual and it was therefore with surprised delight that we discovered that an attractive plunge pool forms part of the outdoor facilities, providing an ideal spot for cooling off before dining on the barbecue terrace that lies to one side.  Guests will however probably spend much of their time down on the beach, since the wide expanse of Fuente del Gallo’s golden sands lies just 220m below, via a series of steps and pathways.  Dining out is also an easy option:  either wander just 100m behind the house to the nearest restaurant and mini-market or head into the bustling fishing village of Conil (2km) for a wide range of shops, bars and appetising menus of local fare.
