Great Things to Do Near Villa Fuente Redonda
Rent bikes from a local company and they will deliver to the villa along with helmets, bike locks etc. It is an easy 10 minute cycle to the beach and village of Zahora down country lanes. For the more adventurous head into the national park behind the house where there are designated cycle tracks with views across the Atlantic to Africa.
Watch the sunset
The beaches and coves in this part of the world are predominantly west facing and enjoy spectacular sunsets. Enjoy a stroll along the shore or sit at a beach bar with a cool gin and tonic.
Visit one of the oldest cities in Europe. Wander round the gourmet food market, flower market, castle, botanical gardens, shop in the pedestrian streets and enjoy tapas in one of the many palm tree lined plazas.
Vejer de la Frontera
Wander around the narrow cobbled streets of this charming pueblo blanco and soak up the atmosphere. Vejer has become a gastronomic hub in recent years and has a range of traditional tapas bars, sherry bars, Moroccan and Italian restaurants.
Jerez de la Frontera
The villa is less than an hour's drive to the 2014 European Capital of Wine. Enjoy boutique shopping, a visit to one of the sherry and brandy bodegas, sample the local cuisine, attend one the Royal Equestrian Centre spectaculars or watch a flamenco show.
It is possible to rent out equipment close by and explore the sandy beaches or rocky coves along the Costa de la Luz.
A tapas crawl
The perfect area to sample local retinto beef, freshly caught Almadraba tuna, octopus, squid, prawns, many varieties of fish, organically grown fruit and vegetables, as well as Moroccan cuisine.
Hack out through the shaded pine forests or along the long open stretches of Atlantic coastline.
Bolonia - Roman Ruins
The ancient Roman city of Baelo Claudia must be seen to be believed. Located 22km north of Tarifa, the site is located on the shores/dunes of Bolonia with views across to Africa.
There are local markets in every town which open almost daily. Enjoy purchasing freshly caught fish, organic meat for the barbecue and seasonal fruit and veg.
