This spacious town house sits in a prime location in a quiet residential street, only 1.7km from the centre of laid back Porto Colom with its wonderful promenade and stunning natural harbour, while the wide sandy beach of Cala Marcal is only 2.3km away and the picturesque cove of Cala Brafi a little further along the scenic, indented coast line.

A spacious lawned garden surrounds the vast, appealing sun terrace and larger than average swimming pool, providing oodles of room for younger family members to play, whilst over hanging trees around the gardens edge bring an abundance of natural shade.

An impressive stone staircase leads from the garden to a wide raised terrace with commanding views across mature bushes and trees to the white washed walls of other similarly impressive homes on the town outskirts.

Part shaded for dining in comfort the terrace is conveniently equipped with an in-built BBQ and certainly destined to become a favourite spot for outdoor meals or simply enjoying a cool drink in the warm Mediterranean climate.

Patio doors lead to the interior of the house, which is spacious, comfortable and inviting. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and the open plan living/dining room are also ideal for large families or sharing couples to sit together. A separate TV/reading room provides a comfy corner in which to relax and enjoy some personal space. Each of the four bedrooms is attractively decorated; a twin bedroom with separate bathroom is found on the lower floor, with three further double bedrooms, all with en suite facilities, upstairs.

The location of Dues Illes is ideal for enjoying Mediterranean living at its finest. All along this picturesque coastline are numerous sandy cove beaches to discover, many amongst the most pictureque and inviting on Mallorca. Shops, bars and essential amenities are all within walking distance while, just a few hundred metres further, the harbour promenade is fringed by some of the island’s finest sea food restaurants (one of which is reputedly a favourite of Juan Carlos I the former King of Spain).

Please note: The housekeepers live below the premises, with their accommodation accessed by a completely separate entrance. They do not use any of the house facilities and your privacy is assured at all times.

Great Things to Do Near Dues Illes

Palma de Mallorca, capital city

It would be a shame not to spend time in Palma - there are many interesting historical buildings to visit including the Cathedral, Almudaina Palace, Bellver Castle, as well as museums and art galleries. Palma is also an excellent shopping centre.

Mondragó Natural Park

Mallorca in the olden days!

Visit one of the most representative manors of Mallorca's plains, Els Calderers de Sant Joan, where you will be able to imagine farming as it was 200 years ago and sample some home-made local products. Or, in the opposite direction at Esporles, is La Granja a large historical mansion with gardens, fountains, ancient trees and plants with wild and domestic animals. Also on view - a demonstration of ancient handicrafts, tools and machinery. Taste Mallorcan specialities such as jams, cheese, fig cake, sobrassada and moscatel.

Going further north...

Spend a day visiting the towns of Artà, famous for its basket making, and Capdepera where there is an interesting old castle worth seeing. Also in the area is a small hermitage at Betlem, from which you can appreciate fantastic views towards Colònia de Sant Pere and the Bay of Alcúdia.

Waterparks and Marineland

For those who enjoy waterparks, try Aqualand at S'Arenal - it can get crowded and best to take a picnic! Marineland, in Costa den Blanes, has wonderful dolphin, sea lion and parrot shows.

The old ruined castle at Alaró

Make your way to the top of Castell d'Alaró - take water to drink as the last part of the journey has to be done on foot. The views from the top are breathtakingly beautiful! On the way down enjoy a meal at the Restaurant Es Verger where they serve tasty roast lamb done in a traditional Mallorcan oven.

A day trip to Sóller by train

For adults and children alike, it's fun to take the old-fashioned train from Palma (or Bunyola) to Sóller. From there you can get a tram to the Port de Sóller through the orange groves and back, to then relax in one of the popular cafés in the main square in Sóller and enjoy the atmosphere.

Enjoy an evening in Cala Figuera

This pirate’s haven, although it doesn’t have a beach, is a very pretty inlet and has numerous restaurants and bars to enjoy sitting and watching the lighthouse and hustle and bustle of this small port.

Local beaches and coves

The east coast of Mallorca has several coves and beaches, safe for children and fun for snorkelling. Popular beaches are Cala Sa Nau, S'Amarador, Cala Mondragó, Cala Llombards and a little further away, Es Trenc.

A drink in the square at Santanyi

A pleasant way to spend an evening is sitting in the square at Santanyí where occasionally they have live music in one of the local bars. There are also several popular restaurants to choose from.

Sant Salvador Monastery and sunset

It is worth the drive to the top of the hill of Sant Salvador, near to Felanitx. As well as the monastery which has a museum, bar and restaurant, the views of the surrounding countryside are magnificent. On a clear day you can see the Island of Cabrera Nature Reserve, or even witness a most beautiful sunset.

Boat trips along the east coast

There is a variety of boat trips leaving from Portocolom and Portopetro (Starfish)which take you down the east coast of Mallorca, visiting some of the lovely coves and, on occasions, you are allowed you to swim off the boat.

Visit one of the local wineries

There are several wineries open to the public in Mallorca. Jaume Mesquida de Mallorca is in the street C/ de la Vileta 7 in Porreres - a family-run business founded in 1945 which produces wines of the Pla and Llevant areas. Tel +34 971 647 106.

Portopetro and Portocolom

The small fishing ports of Portopetro and Portocolom are congenial for a stroll around the quayside and a meal sitting on the terrace of one of the restaurants overlooking the picturesque harbours.There are also boat trips available during the day from these two harbours where you can appreciate the beauty of the east coastline.

Visit the Island of Cabrera

Cabrera is an island off Mallorca`s south east corner. A National Park and Marine Reserve, this is a wonderful day trip for those interested in nature and history. You can climb to the castle towering above a harbour used as a place of refuge since Roman times, swim in crystal waters, and visit the island’s museum. Bring your own picnic or buy lunch onboard. The famous Caves of Drach

The most spectacular caves on the island are the Caves of Drach in Portocristo, where one of the largest underground lakes is to be found. Also in the same area are the Caves of Hams. Further north, at Canyamel, are the Caves of Artà which are not quite so commercial. Visits are usually on the hour.

Sunday Market in Felanitx

The market in Felanitx on Sunday morning is a colourful, bustling event where you can buy your locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as souvenirs and presents.
