Margon is a cool and unpretentious holiday villa in a great location for touring the surrounding Languedocienne sites. Tiled floors and large comfy sofas in the air conditioned first floor lead out to a spacious balcony overlooking the pool for outdoor dining. Décor is simple yet contemporary and stylish. The ground floor rooms, whilst not air conditioned, are cool and a further living area leads out to the 2800m² extensive garden which will delight both children and pet dogs who are welcome at this property. In the grounds there are two or three different shaded spots to relax, as well as fruit trees to engage your taste buds and cypresses that are typical of the region.
The village has its own château and a restaurant, which are within strolling distance. Close to the house is a patchwork maze of narrow lanes that wind between vineyards and medieval villages. Savour weekly markets and artisanal boutiques in the old, cobbled streets of Pézenas (12km) and visit the pretty village of Gignac (37km). Within 35 minutes, you can be in Mèze on the shores of the Étang de Thau which is one of Europe’s largest salt water lagoons separated from the sea by a thin strip of sand and dominated by the Mont St Clair peninsula. Mèze has a lovely atmosphere with seafood restaurants as well a beach. Also on these shores don't miss out on the opportunity to savour the renowned oysters of Bouzigues and mussels served fresh in the restaurants of the port of Sète (47km). For light hearted fun head to the Aqualand park at Cap d’Agde which is a 40 minute drive whilst long sandy beaches can be found at Marseillan Plage (41km). Montpellier (74km) is a day trip out and sure to inspire; medieval streets ideal for shopping and new infrastructure combining natural spaces and cutting-edge buildings designed by international architects feature prominently in the centre alongside a new modern tram system.
