Enjoying a privileged hillside setting, Oro Di Agathera boasts breathtaking panoramic views across Kefalonia’s spectacular coastline.

Neighbouring its sister property, Palazzo Di Agathera, this stunning new villa gazes out over the shimmering Ionian Sea, framed by rolling countryside and the majestic slopes of Mount Ainos.

The villa combines clean and contemporary architecture with a stylish colour scheme of dusky pinks, soft sage greens and rich emerald accents. Light filled interiors create a relaxing atmosphere, while the open plan living space provides a welcome escape from the midday sun. The fully equipped kitchen, dining area and comfortable lounge flow outside to the covered terrace, where outdoor dining and the striking infinity pool are just a few steps away. A beautifully appointed double bedroom with an en suite bathroom is also situated on this floor, with doors which open directly outside.

Upstairs, two further bedrooms each enjoy their own en suite bathroom and share a generous balcony, providing another vantage point to savour the unforgettable vista.

Outside, the spacious terrace invites you to spend long, leisurely days reclining on a sun lounger beneath clear blue skies. The inviting pool offers a refreshing retreat, where you can cool off while taking in the far-reaching views. Nearby, a shaded terrace and in-built barbecue create the perfect spot for relaxed al fresco dining and convivial gatherings over freshly grilled food and a glass of something chilled. Thoughtfully designed throughout, the outdoor space makes the most of the villa’s spectacular setting.

A stroll (1.5km) downhill leads to the sandy coves and bathing platforms of Agios Thomas, plus two local tavernas selling traditional food, a hidden gem renowned for its crystal clear waters and excellent snorkelling. Just up the road lies the charming village of Karavados (3km), nestled amongst fragrant pine forests and citrus groves at the foot of Mount Ainos. Here, visitors can experience authentic Greek village life, with a traditional church, local mini-market and welcoming taverna, all at a convenient distance.

Perfectly positioned for exploring the island, Oro di Agathera offers the ideal combination of relaxation, style and convenience. With beautiful beaches close by and Kefalonia’s most celebrated attractions within easy reach, it is an exceptional choice for a wonderful Ionian escape.

Locality

Great Things to Do Near Oro Di Agathera

Argostoli back streets

For retail therapy, the pedestrian Lithostrato offers a wonderful selection of shops offering everything from local produce to stylish leather shoes. There are plenty of local cafes for refreshments and the Orthodox church of St. Spiridon and the Catholic church always have their doors open. Go on Tuesday, Thursday or Fridays in the evenings when all the shops are open!

Spend the day in Fiscardo

In the north of the island, Fiscardo has something for everyone: Roman ruins, an extremely pretty harbour, great tavernas and restaurants, excellent boutiques and a couple of delightful small bays nearby for an afternoon dip.

Drive to the top of Mount Aenos

Yes, you can drive all the way to the top of Mount Aenos- save your energy for taking photographs and taking in the panoramic views. You may even spot the elusive and extremely endangered wild ponies.

Snorkel at Agios Thomas

Its clear waters, sandy beach and gentle waves, make this nearby beach a popular place to snorkel.

The King of the Castle!

St Georges Castle is the historic capital of Kefalonia. A great place to wander and explore. There are many alleyways, along with a wonderful old church and monastery with ancient icons on display. Afterwards, why not stop for a coffee or lunch there.

Spend the day at Lourdas

One of the longest beaches in Kefalonia, here you will find plenty of bars, restaurants and shops, sunbeds, boat hire and paddle boarding.

Sample the local meat pie

The Greeks love their pies, and the Kefalonians have taken it one step further in producing this nourishing dish. Everyone has their own secret recipe, so we are unable to tell you exactly what's in it, but it is filo pastry stuffed with minced pork meat and rice along with an undisclosed mixture of spices and sauce - delicious!

Island hop to Zakynthos

Not so far away from Kefalonia, but it could be at the other end of the world, such is the contrast between these 2 islands. Take the ferry over from the port of Pesada (10 mins from the villa) to Agios Nikolaos and from here visit the Blue Caves or the famous Shipwreck Beach.

Visit Melissani Lake

The aquamarine waters are simply stunning: the colours and eerie atmosphere is something you will never forget.

Turtle rescue fund

The Kefalonia locals are extremely proud of the fact that the Caretta caretta turtles continue to use these unspoilt beaches in the south of the island to nest their eggs. As one would hope and expect, much of this coastline is protected and supervised to ensure that the eggs are not disturbed. There are a number of beautiful and fascinating beaches close to the villa. You can also spot turtles down in Argostoli harbour.

Wine lovers rejoice

With 8 different wineries to choose from - Kefalonia is a wine connoisseurs delight. Spend an afternoon stocking up for the holiday and then decide which ones to take home! At the end of August, in nearby Fragata, there is a wine festival where local producers offer free tastings and there is plenty of music and celebrations.
