Complete with sauna, small gym, large and well equipped kitchen and dining area, and tasteful furnishings of the highest standard, this superbly restored 17th Century property provides ideal accommodation for large groups and sharing families. With so many facilities and such comfortable accommodation in the house itself, guests may not feel the urge to wander far. Nevertheless, for those who do wish to explore, the pretty riverside town of Ponte de Lima with its delightful network of cobbled streets and elegant buildings is a mere 8km away.

In a privileged situation on the tiered slopes of the wooded and vine covered valley of Labruja, the pool, terraces and lawns command impressive views across lush green hillside.  Inside the house, the spacious dining room with ample seating and large windows looks out onto these terraces, with the door from both here and the adjacent kitchen providing convenient access to them.

The wide windows that create such a light and attractive dining area extend along this wing of the house to the small gym and sauna, from where there is also a door to the pool and its surrounding terraces.

The restoration has combined two houses to create a spacious abode that displays a pleasing blend of old and new. Whilst the poolside wing with its tall windows and cheery atmosphere is more modern in style, a wander through an arched corridor reveals the beautifully furnished bedrooms where open stone walls with pretty window seats and typical furniture of solid wood creates a more traditional feel.

A small shop with basic items lies a mere 1km from the house, although the country road that winds its way past the side of the house provides convenient access to Ponte de Lima. The latter can be reached by way of a 10 minute drive and offers a wide range of local restaurants and all other amenities.

  • We would like to point out that whilst the terraced grounds offer superb views across the surrounding countryside, young children would need supervision.
  • Flexible changeover days may be possible at this house. Please enquire.
