Encircled by olive groves and the bright blooms of Mediterranean flora, this charming Alpujarran cottage nestles attractively amongst the picturesque countryside that surrounds the local market town of Orgiva. Its delightful rural position offers a restful outlook across a sea of silvery grey olive leaves towards the rolling hills of the Sierra de Lujar and is yet just 900m from the lively bustle of local village life.

In typical regional style, its neatly presented rooms display an attractive combination of fresh white walls, terracotta tiled floors and exposed ceiling beams, with the open plan layout of the living area creating a pleasing sense of spaciousness.

Outside, a south facing covered terrace provides the perfect spot from which to soak up the absorbing vista, the high slopes of the sierra forming a striking backdrop to the wide expanse of olive groves that stretch out ahead. To the side, the same view can be enjoyed from the pool and its surrounding terraces, whilst the property’s own olive orchard lies at the back.

Its scenic setting makes Cortijo Las Gallinas an ideal retreat for those wishing to simply relax and admire the delightful surroundings that make the Alpujarras such a favoured destination for walkers and nature lovers, but at the same time it is conveniently close to all amenities. Just 900m away, via a rustic country track, Orgiva is home to shops, bars and a range of local restaurants whilst up above, a drive through the foothills of the Sierra Nevada will reveal a series of picture-postcard mountain villages. Also within easy reach are the beaches of the Costa Tropical (30 minutes drive) and the historic sights of Granada (55 minutes).
