This beautifully converted mill house sits within 17 acres of grounds, where shady areas of mature woodland are interspersed with grassy open spaces. The former millstream that runs across the land falls into pretty waterfalls, whilst the large natural lake that lies on a raised plain behind the house is another of the many attractive features.

Great care and thought has been put into the refurbishment to create a unique house of immense charm with a rustic atmosphere. Beamed ceilings, exposed stonework and the presence of the original water wheel in the sitting room ensure that the traditional character is preserved whilst throughout, the accommodation provides comfort and convenience with well proportioned and tastefully furnished rooms.

The main house is complemented by two charming 'casitas', which lie immediately adjacent. With each having its own private entrance next to the lake, larger families or groups of friends can holiday together whilst still retaining their own independence if required.

Meals can be taken together either inside the main house or on the sunny front terrace and the ample grounds provide an ideal setting for outdoor living. The private swimming pool is bordered on all sides by pretty lawns, whilst a meander up the slopes at the back of the house leads to several shady pathways through the surrounding woodland.

The historic 'pueblo blanco' of Arcos de la Frontera with its narrow whitewashed streets is 9km from the house, whilst Ronda, Sevilla and Granada make excellent destinations for day trips.

Smaller parties paying reduced rentals will have use of the main house only.

Just a few miles away and you can explore its dizzy views, medieval streets and churches.

Sip Sherry in Jerez de la Frontera

Home of sherries - a surprisingly wide range of types of wine are made in the unique Sherry method and you can watch it being made if you visit one of the several Bodegas in the region. Tio Pepe is especially well organized with tours and generous samples! It's easy to find too.

Visit Tarifa on the Southernmost tip of Andalucía

See the kite surfers (you could have a go yourself!), explore the castle and the old town and marvel at the views across to Morocco. Africa is just 11 miles away across the Straits.

Explore Medina Sidonia

See the cathedral and the Roman fortress and explore the old town that was once largely owned by the wealthiest family of Spain.

Be amazed by the scale of these largely unheard of Roman remains. A whole Roman city, tucked into a curve of the coastline. You can follow your archaeological exploration with a great fish lunch right there on the beachside!

Visit Cape Trafalgar, its Lighthouse and Beaches

In 1805 the famous naval battle was fought just 5 miles off shore from the headland and you can begin to imagine the scene at this atmospheric and beautiful spot. The beaches here are superb too.

See Cádiz

So rarely mentioned in any guidebook, but the old town is an absolute gem. Some of things to experience - visit the Cathedral, climb the Torre Tavira, explore the castle and get a sense of its naval history, or simply sit in a patio, be-decked with flowers and people watch.

Visit Ronda

Enjoy the scenic drive there as well as this famous picturesque town perched astride the gorge.

Go shopping...

... for leather goods in Ubrique!

Explore Sevilla

Discover its cathedral and the exquisite Moorish palace or Alcazar. You can even take a city bus tour - it's a great way to see the sights.

Visit Doñana National Park

Take a boat from Sanlucar and see its southern edges or drive to Matalascanas and do the full tour in a 4-wheel drive desert bus! This is Europe's largest birdlife reserve and quite unique.

Try Horse Racing

Right on the beach at Sanlucar in August!

Take a Drive and Explore

Stunning scenery is within easy reach: it's a beautiful mountain drive via Alcala, Ubrique, Grazelama and El Bosque or, even closer, the amazing views near Algar of the reservoirs and mountains.

Visit Gibraltar for the Day

Definitely not Spain - and not Britain either. A good day trip the best bit is the rock itself so take a cable car ride or a taxi or walk... to the top!

Take the Kids to Aquasherry Water Park

...just outside Jerez. Make the children the excuse and have a great time yourself on the slides and flumes.

Play Golf!

There are some great courses in the area, all available to non-members. Montecastillo at Jerez and San Roque near Algeciras are the most famous but there are several others: Montenmedio near Vejer and the new course at Benelup.

Visit the Zoo

Jerez zoo is interesting and well run. It's a worthwhile half-day outing.

See the Royal Equestrian School in Jerez

The grand centre of the equestrian arts and there are daily displays of horsemanship.
