A location closer to the waterfront than that enjoyed by this stunningly positioned home would be hard to find! On the unspoilt, natural shore of Galicia’s most southerly coastline we walked through the smartly furnished rooms of Villa Rosal and could not take our eyes off the panoramic ocean vista that stretched out ahead of us.

Beyond a wide expanse of terraces flanking the sea-facing façade of the house, grassland slopes gently down towards the rocky shoreline to seamlessly link the spacious grounds with the ocean itself and provide totally open access to the waterfront. So close is the water’s edge that a swim in the generously proportioned pool will feel like swimming out into the sea itself, and with such an enticing selection of terraces available, dinners al fresco whilst watching the sun set over this maritime scene will surely become a favourite pastime.

Inside too, the well-presented accommodation has been configured to celebrate the enticing views. In the sitting room, the entire west-facing wall is lined with patio doors which open onto a covered terrace and frame the stunning seascape. Three of the four bedrooms also look out to sea whilst downstairs on a lower level a well-equipped games room and additional kitchen facilities open conveniently onto the pool area and add to the attractions of this restorative coastal retreat.

Being conveniently situated just 1.9km south of Oia, Villa Rosal is within easy reach of the pretty coastal village with its typically quaint streets of stone houses, two restaurants, a small grocery shop, a bakery, cafes and the nearest sandy beach to the house. For those not wishing to use the car, the well-signed Camino de Santiago provides a scenic route on foot whilst the more energetic may opt for the cycle track which follows the coast road both north to Oia and also south to the atmospheric port of A Guarda, which is just 10.2km away.

  • Since all bedrooms have double beds, an additional single bed can be provided if required although the maximum capacity of 8 must not be exceeded.
