Villa Ciel is a contemporary and well designed five bedroom villa, located just above the enchanting town of Kalkan. The superb location affords spectacular views overlooking Kalkan, the stunning turquoise waters of Kalkan Bay and beyond to the horizon of the Mediterranean Sea.

The living area in Villa Ciel is open plan with air conditioning throughout, marble floors and tastefully decorated. A contemporary kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and a breakfast bar with stools provide a sociable entertaining area. A spacious living room with flat screen smart TV and access to a variety of media will keep everyone entertained. Floor to ceiling sliding windows permit you to make the most of the panoramic views and provide access to the large terrace which is great for dining alfresco or just relaxing with a sundowner and soaking in the views before an evening out in Kalkan. A fun lower terrace offers table tennis and links to the lower floor bedrooms and games room with TV, table football and games console. Guests will love the large private infinity pool which boasts a separate spa and is accessed via stairs from both the lower and upper terraces.

All five bedrooms have an en-suite shower room and terrace access, however two bedrooms, including the principal, have the added luxury of spa baths whilst the principal bedroom is located on the top floor with a unique round bed, private fridge, balcony with sunbeds and a pergola!

The vibrant resort of Kalkan (1.5km) is a short drive downhill. Home to a variety of restaurants serving delicious food, as well as supermarkets, beach clubs and a small sandy public beach, Kalkan is an enchanting blend of old and new. The nearest beach club is Kalamar Beach Club (3.2km) with sun loungers set around a small bay and offering a range of water sports. Why not take advantage of a day out to Kaş, which is just a 35 minute drive along a spectacular twisty coastal road, pausing for a swim at Kaputaş beach club (8.5km). Alternatively follow an alternative route to Patara (16km) where the sweeping sands make up the longest beach on the Lycian coastline.

There are a lot of steps in the villa. Because of this the villa may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
An extra childs bed is available.

Great Things to Do Near Villa Ciel

Explore the back streets of Kalkan

Wonderful atmospheric narrow streets that house a mixture of shops, coffee bars, restaurants with traditional overhanging wooden balconies above. Enjoy having a wander around.

A 'must see' is the ancient site of Xanthos

It was one of the six principal cities of Lycia and it is one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in Turkey and has been registered in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list. Of note are the pillar tombs (unique to Lycia) and the Harpy column tomb with frieze. The 'Harpy Tomb' is so called as it was believed that the winged women figures in the frieze were harpies - monsters from Greek mythology with the head of a woman and the body of a bird.

For the biggest market on the Lycian coast

take the journey up to Fethiye and experience an authentic Turkish market. Produce is brought from all over the region - vegetables, spices and, of course, the 'genuine fake' designer goods. In the centre of Fethiye is the fish market, where fresh fish can be chosen from the stalls and cooked at one of the restaurants in the surrounding square - a great place for lunch. Tuesday is the main market day for Fethiye.

Drive down to the stunning beach of Patara

It's part of a huge national park, it is a key biodiversity area, rich in birdlife and the breeding ground of the endangered loggerhead turtle (caretta caretta). Only about a 15 minute stroll from some of the major ruins, even in the height of the summer it is never crowded. The absence of development and no water sports means that it is always peaceful.

Sticky delights

Try one of the rich, gooey Turkish pastries, rich in honey, raisins, nuts and cinnamon and layered in Filo pastry - along with a Turkish coffee to clear the palate. Kalkan's harbour front is the best place to enjoy this indulgence!

Stepping down to Kaputas Beach

In an unspoilt, idyllic setting, Kaputas Beach, much smaller than Patara, is only accessed by 192 steps down - so make sure you can manage the climb back up at the end of the day!
