The area is also ideal for those who enjoy fishing and scuba-diving as there are plenty of small isolated coves to be discovered. Horse riding, hiking and cycling amongst the olive groves is also a popular pastime.

Don’t miss a boat trip to the famous Blue Caves with their luminous turquoise waters, or visit the iconic Navagio shipwreck nestled beneath dramatic cliffs. Explore charming hilltop villages where bougainvillea tumbles over whitewashed walls, or if you're travelling with children, the island's waterpark is perfect for a day of splashing about and laughter.

Traditional tavernas run along the coastal road between Vasilikos and San Nikolas and offer fresh catches of the day and authentic Greek salads, whilst providing the setting for a romantic evening dinner. There is very little construction along this stretch of coastline as the Caretta Caretta turtles lay their eggs here.
